I visited Oak & Steel for the first time today. It was very clean and the beer selection was great. My husband and I stopped in to use our Pub Passes and we were very pleased. The bartender was very nice and the music was great. We will be back soon!

The bartender rolled her eyes and felt put out when my wife asked to sample a beer. We we were the only ones at the bar. If you can't take the time to help a customer find a beer they like, why would anyone go there.

Your mileage may very but there are many more accommodating breweries out there to choose from.

Love this place! It’s an excellent warm up before a Kauffman Center show, and it’s small enough to be a relatively quiet hang out with friends. They have a great beer selection (LOVED the Eastciders Blood Orange Cider), and the service is friendly. Only downside is there’s relatively little to eat, so might want to bring a snack or eat a meal first.

Mostly beer and liquor, some soft drinks. No food, but that's not why people come here.

Probably the best selection of local craft beer in the city, with a welcoming vibe and great service. Good trivia night, too!

I love O&S and anyone who knows craft beer will also agree. Even if you don't, they are experts on the beer scene and are very welcome to help you find something you like. From beer to whiskeys to BYOB food from nearby to games and events, they have everything you need. The environment has always been clean which I appreciate. The covered porch is a cool spot as well where your dog can chill and stay cool. I love that they support local breweries and select a strong rotating list of local KC beer. I know if I miss it at the actual brewery, I can count on O&S to have a keg down the line.

Oak & Steel is hands-down one of the best spots in Kansas City if you're into craft beer, fine whiskey, or just want a chill place to enjoy a quality drink. The selection here is incredible—rotating taps with some rare finds and knowledgeable staff who are clearly passionate about what they do.

The vibe is relaxed and welcoming. Whether you're stopping in solo, meeting up with friends, or out for a low-key date night, it's the kind of place where you can actually have a conversation and savor your drink.

Even though they don't serve food, they’re totally cool with you bringing your own or ordering from nearby, which adds to the laid-back charm.

If you appreciate expertly poured drinks, a great atmosphere, and staff who make you feel like a regular even on your first visit, Oak & Steel should be at the top of your list.

Such a delightful place. Went for trivia and ended up having the best cider I have had in quite some time. Win or lose, we will definitely return!

Best small beer wine and whiskey bar in KC. Want something hard to find? It’s here and if you come at happy hour, the price is great!

Stopped in here for a couple of beers before a show at Kauffman. Did not eat anything but really enjoyed the selection of beer. Atmosphere was usual Friday night. Very helpful and friendly service. Highly recommend for a drink or two.
