I drive by this food truck weekly and decided to try it on a friday around 5 pm. There was one customer in front of me, so it was not busy. I ordered a whole chicken, the flank steak, and side of thinly sliced spicy onions; the total came out to $45. The chicken was DRY and it was blatantly obvious that it had been cooked long before i got there and was sitting in a warmer drying out. The flank steak was thin, chewy, and almost felt like plastic. I have to assume that this meat had been sitting in a warmer drying out as well. I had high hopes for this meal that my wife and I split but for a Friday night to serve old, dry meats when that is all your food truck offers, it leaves me here wondering how much this food truck needed my $45. Times are tough but i wont be duped into coming back ti this food truck. I feel bad giving any business two stars but I truly believe this food truck earned both of them. Maybe try a Tuesday or something because other people have had better luck than I did.
Patron Pollo N Beef #2 – South KC (outside a gas station in the parking lot). One of the rare food trucks that nails quality, quantity, and price.
Order: Mixed plate for lunch (about 20 minutes). Includes two charbroiled chicken pieces, half order of grilled steak, rice, tortillas, grilled peppers and onions, salsas, and a cup of charro beans.
Chicken: Juicy, smoky, seasoned so well it could compete with tandoori chicken.
Flank Steak: Tender, flavorful, nicely grilled.
Charro beans: Soupy, shockingly good, and well seasoned.
Rice: Basic, plain, no real seasoning. Warm tortillas are a plus.
Peppers & onions: Good flavor but could be cut thinner and grilled longer.
Lime: Great touch—brightens the meat and beans, not something you see often in food trucks.
Wish list: Bigger salsa cups without the extra charge, and julienned peppers and onions grilled longer for flavor and ease.
The vibe: Hidden gem. Hispanic families and construction crews come here for a reason. Gas station isn’t busy, but the truck is. A couple of benches outside, many eat in cars or take it to-go.
Bottom line: Flavorful meats, generous portions, thoughtful touches. Easily one of the best food truck finds in KC.
Got there at 4:59 for the Thursday special. Guy didn’t want to do the special he said it was 5:00
I said forget it. Would buy from them a few times a month for the last few years
I won’t go back
Great food
Stopped here for lunch after picking up a suit. Asada and chicken were amazing and there is plenty of leftovers.
The place is a hidden gem. The grilled chicken and beef were well-seasoned and delicious. The portion sizes were generous, and the tastes were fantastic. The service was nice and prompt. I had a terrific time here with my friend and will surely be back for more!
Great food better than most restaurants Mesquite grilled chicken and steak is to die for
Been wanting to est here for a while. Finally got the chance. They hit all the right notes for me as far as a taco truck. Fresh made, good tortillas and mexican music playing over the radio. Grilled veggies and rice and beans, too, with the quartered grilled chicken and a nice cut of flank steak.

The food here is awesome. Selo absolutely kills it on the grill, the chicken is spot on! The sides- rice and their bean soup - are perfect accompaniments. Their grilled jalapenos have the perfect flavor and tons of heat !Jeili is a a delight, the guys are fun, and the music is inviting and wraps up the whole atmosphere. Super popular spot that you need to visit if you haven't already!!!

This food truck is legit. It feels like going to a friend’s house and had fantastic charcoal grilled chicken and steak.
I got the carne asada and others with me got the 1/2 chicken and mixed plate. All delicious.
Large portions.
You get tortillas, rice, beans and grilled jalapeño and onion with salsa.
Two tables outside to eat.
You will not leave hungry!
