The food was above average and great for an airport. Unsurprisingly everything was overpriced. 8 ribs with a small slaw, a handful of fries, and a domestic beer will be about $30. Ribs were tender, slaw was alright, cornbread was small, cold, and dry. Service was attentive if not overly friendly.
Only place I'd eat at the airport. Haven't been anywhere else it's just delicious. The service is fantastic. Super friendly, very accommodating. Well-made bloody Mary. They serve ONLY breakfast til 1100 and have two options: tots and meat n stuff or sammy n tots. They're good, but lunch is where it's at.The Mac n cheese is pretty good, though I wish it'd had a bit more meat. They put smoked turkey and smoked brisket on it usually. This time they didn't have turkey, so I'd thought there'd be more bits o' brisket. There didn't seem to be a lot of brisket on it. Though they did let me order a couple extra pieces of brisket al LA carte on the Mac.
Thank you Brenda for the suggestion and service for my first visit. I’ve walked by the Pork and Pickle- every time I can remember- I’ve flown out of Terminal B. It always smells fantastic. The Gastro Cobb was delicious- heavy on the dressing for my taste, the I enjoyed the onion vinaigrette none the less. I loved how crisp the chopped bacon was. The cornbread was proper moisture for cornbread and a slightly spongy grainy texture.
The food I got (loaded chips?)wasn't very good and overpriced but it is at the airport so the price is expected. The other food I saw come out looked really good. The girl behind the bar was very nice and good at her job.
If you're passing through KC as a stop from NYC, you'll want to pass on this spot. If the restaurants in NYC is your basis for comparison, it won't be fair. Just go back downstairs to the Starbucks and get whatever, and wait until you arrive to your destination to eat a meal. They had the Driest Angus Burger ever, not all-the-way-done, dried out fries and for a pickle place, not the freshest looking pickles either. They do not serve dessert either. Service was OK and ambience was lackluster, music must be for the locals ( but they're located in an airport ?).
Food is bad but it's an airport restaurant, you're not going there for quality food, you're going there to kill time or because you woke up at 6:00 a.m. and now it's 4 in the afternoon and you still haven't eaten anything. Surprisingly good liquor selection, especially given the location, kinda weird drinking a single pour Basil Hayden's out of shot glass, though.
The smoked beef brisket was really good! The bread was toasted just right. Came with a good amount of fries too. The service was very nice.
Delicious airport food may seem like an oxymoron, but we were wowed by the great service and delicious food. I had the pork and pickle sliders and my husband had the rack of ribs-both excellent. The host was also our server who made sure we had great service even though it was crazy busy. I also had the yummy corn muffins which I substituted for fries.
Food in the airport is not always the best right but this was some great eating. It was nice to sit and relax, the server made us feel welcomed and not rushed. Definitely worthy of 5 stars.
Kind of cramped and very hot. The meat smoker leaves a strong burning smell throughout.

Terminal B has been very few options at the Kansas City Airport.Starbucks apparently closes at 5pm. Pork & pickle is one of the only options left. The fries and hot dog were good but overpriced. The place was packed on a Wednesday evening, the staff was overload and not so friendly. The remaining items in saw in other people's plates looked so so.If possible, eat before heading out to terminal B (serving Southwest and Allegiant).
Good food and the beer selection is great. Prices are a bit high, but that's to be expected in an airport. I stop in every time I leave KC.
Standing at the please wait to be seated sign in the middle of the restaurant in full view of the staff for 15 minutes. It's not full. It's not even that busy. That are completely ignoring us like we don't exist. There are 2 of us, it's not like 10 people walked in here. They're cutting lemons, taking out the trash, and standing around. Really limited menu. Servers don't like working here, not even going to order.Edit: got stuck there and was so sorry. Really bad service, disgusting coleslaw, and a raw bleeding burger when I ordered medium. It was over $50 for this and do you think they did anything about the fact that they gave me raw meat that I wouldn't eat? No. Gag. Go to Starbucks, at least you won't get food poisoning.
Great service and decent food. I took their mini cornbread as a souvenir, it was classic KCMO quality.
The waitress was nice, but the people working in the kitchen spend a lot of time complaining about life in general. Lots of F bombs and S words. And the customers are sitting right there listening. The ribs were tasty but small, the coleslaw was awful, and the single corn muffin was the size of a golf ball. Next time, I'll just get something at Starbucks.
