I needed a place nearby the Hilton President hotel to work for a bit with good coffee, and this place was perfect.

Holy cow - the classic breakfast sandwich here is insanely good. Coffee and chai were great too. I'll be back...as in tomorrow morning.

High-quality roasts, both dark and light. Plus Holly is the city’s best barista.

Good coffee but nothing spectacular. This was just one of the coffee places I tried in downtown Kansas City MO. It came in second.

Terrible. Avoid. The absolute worst service. Seemed focused on Door Dash orders and not on in person customers. Again. just go to Hotel Kansas City.

Best espresso you will find in Kansas City and they make an outstanding Cortado👌
The matcha was pale, tasteless, and clumpy at the bottom. Bitter and not in the way a matcha should be. So bad I threw it away. I would not come here for a matcha. The place itself was cute and the staff mostly friendly.

We love PT’s Coffee. After the manufacturer discontinued the espresso beans I had used for years, I struggled to find a replacement. I eventually tried PT’s Coffee ...ordered as a latte, my usual drink...at one of their stores and really enjoyed the robust flavor of the Flying Monkey espresso blend.
I started buying the beans around 2021–2022 at my local Whole Foods, where a 12 oz. bag cost $11.79 ($0.98/oz.). It was a great deal. However, by about 2023, the beans became increasingly hard to find at Whole Foods. So I began going to the PT’s store at Power & Light to purchase them instead. I noticed the bags sold at PT’s locations are 2 oz. smaller and cost over $4 more per bag. Naturally, I thought: let me order in bulk online - surely that’s cheaper. But after visiting the website and subscribing, I found that the opposite was true. While the subscription saves me a few dollars, the price per ounce is still higher than what I paid at Whole Foods. Here's the math:
12 oz. bag at Whole Foods: $11.79 ($0.98/oz.)
32 oz. bag online: $44.25 ($1.38/oz.)
32 oz. bag with subscription discount: $39.83 ($1.24/oz.)
After realizing this, I reached out to PT’s directly via their website. They responded quickly and explained that they transitioned from 12 oz. to 10 oz. bags to align with their sister company, Bird Rock Coffee, and to match the size preferences of several distribution partners. They also noted that this change came with their first per-ounce price increase since 2017, and that the Whole Foods pricing was a lingering anomaly. I really appreciated their transparency and honesty...it made me want to keep doing business with them.
We no longer live in Kansas City, but I now subscribe to receive a 5 lb. bag (about every 6–8 weeks) for $89.00. The best part is that the beans are roasted the day before they’re shipped, which was never the case with the beans I bought at Whole Foods.
I only hope that any potential tariffs aren’t passed on to the customer. I’m very happy with the product and the current price point. There’s not much room for the price to increase unless there’s a corresponding increase in quality or added value.

This place is bad. Like really, really bad. I had a pour over coffee that was bitter and gross, had a kid who had an iced matcha that just tasted like milk without any matcha flavor. We both threw them away before even finishing half. I can’t stress enough, this is BAD.

The latte was very weak with little to no espresso, so it was basically a cup of milk. Barista was not very friendly. Atmosphere was mostly clean. Felt bad for the only two people they had working on a busy weekend morning.
Good experience! Husband & I’s lattes were wonderful, tasted great! Atmosphere is clean, laid back, perfect Saturday morning date.
Great coffee, cute atmosphere!
Staff is usually great! I’ve noticed they have quite a few new baristas and quite a few just have a negative demeanor. Not sure if they are under new management or what but hope it improves!
Been there a couple times when I was in town. Always had a light roast expresso that was phenomenal! Super smooth very very tasty. Highly recommend.
