The food was good although salmon was a bit undercooked and would say over priced based on all factors. Made reservations and place was fairly wide open and we are still seated right next to waitress water station. This is a small restaurant located next to the hotel lobby. The bar was so noisy we couldn't hear each other. The dining room was nice in general, but nothing too great for cost of meal and drinks. Service was good.
Lonnie's Reno club truly deserves a visit. The performance was nothing short of amazing! He is a remarkable artist who beautifully weaves together the roots of jazz, creating an experience that lingers in the heart. His band is exceptional, filled with some of the most talented musicians I’ve ever had the privilege to see live. Thank you, Lonnie, for sharing your gift with us; it means so much.

Was so looking forward to items on website menu to be told they had a new seasonal menu which was average.
Great service and top notch food with variety of options and tastes. Well done cocktails and always nice ambiance.
When in Kansas City, have a steak. So we did. They were beautiful, and cooked perfectly. Wish I could say the same for the rest of the meal. Caesar salad was amateur hour, with ground Parmesan cheese and no white anchovies. The mashed potatoes were so bland as to be an insult to the meat. I would have preferred something a bit more imaginative, such as potatoes as gratin, baked, or Hasselback. The green beans were served with too much butter (or olive oil, or something) and were garnished with shallots and bacon. Simpler would have been better. The menu described them as “French beans” with one entree, and “hericot vert” (instead of “haricots vert) on the other. Cringe. Points for the bread service, which was warm, crusty, and hearty, and served with a lovely garlic herb butter. Cocktails were well made, even if the bartender had to look up a “Rob Roy”. Wine list adequate, if not impressive. Dessert was fine. Crème brûlée. Good texture, and that lovely, subtle taste. Yum. Not sure I would find a reason to return because there are too many competitors in the category. We had a nice evening, but not exceptional.
went here for my birthday food was super good, it's just really loud in there and dim but everything else is a 10/10
I have had a good experience here before but last night we issues with drinks, appetizers-specifically calamari, main dishes/salads, and they were out of a couple things. The manager was pleasant and apologized and took certain things off the bill or discounted others. Our server did not say anything. We were disappointed overall, but thankful for the manager who also was the hostess.
Pretty normal medium-high end restaurant value. We liked the new takes on some of their dishes: steak fries, Mac & Cheese, and their to die for salted bread service. Ambience was nice, especially with Saturday night live music, you will get the occasional rowdy hotel guest at the bar, but that comes with the territory. Great place, just wish it wasn't downtown.
I got the wedge salad with a filet added - It was a lump of iceberg with not much else. Had to ask for the gorgonzola and more dressing. The dressing had no flavor. The filet was fatty and cold. We waited for over an hour to get our food. Awful.

It took over an hour to get a cold fatty steak and a salad with house made dressing that tasted like nothing. Awful.

American Reserve had phenomenal food!! The service was a bit slow and the overall experience suffered as a result.
An absolutely amazing beautiful experience. Food and service were on point. Delicious everything. Atmosphere is upscale and has a good vibe. 👍 highly recommend!
The American Reserve is a hidden beatiful restaurant in the hear of Ambassador Hotel. Great food in an exquisite ambience with an excellent band directed by Ron Gutierrez. If you ask me, I'd like to suggest a new name for this great bar & grill. The American Great Reserve Bar & Grille
Tuna tataki tacos = flavor bomb 💣 and that French onion soup totally hit the spot. 💯 A little splurgey, but so worth it while chillin’ at The Ambassador and hitting up The American Reserve before the Hardy concert. 🎶

This is a late review…..I called to make reservations for approximately 20 for the evening of Saturday 8/2 for my mom’s 70th birthday. I left 2 voicemails (7/15 & 7/17) and never got a call back. Since I work close to downtown I decided to stop by the hotel on 7/18 because I needed to know if it was possible in case, I needed to have a plan B. When I walked in, I talked to the hostess, and she referred me to the manager as a party of that size needed approval. The manager walked out and asked me what I needed and when I told him he said oh yes, I got your messages. He then went on to say that they can’t make reservations of that size because they are very busy on Saturday’s and that the kitchen will not be able to accommodate us. I advised him that I frequent the establishment often but ok, so I then asked how many people can I make a reservation for? He said 10, notice I am not using his name because he didn’t introduce himself & seemed very put off that I came by up. I asked if I could go ahead and make the reservation since I was there. He said he would have to look at that day & call me back. I asked if it will be today since he never returned any of my previous calls and he said yes. He later called me back and told me basically the same thing that they could not accommodate me. I said I was just there at the end of April for an anniversary party, and there were 15 of us. He said they just changed the policy recently. I said ok and hung up. I ended up making 3 reservations for 6 on open table and had no issues. Ron was amazing as usual and there ended up being 15 of us so there were plenty of tables available for other guests. Several of us ordered food & drinks with no problem! I brought cupcakes to share in which my husband informed me that the manager Zia (just learned his name at that time) informed him that they were charging us a “cutting” fee of $3 per person to hand out cupcakes. Now mind you I was livid because how is that a thing? When I asked to speak to the manager of course Zia never came out to address me. I went ahead and just paid the fee ($42 + 20% service charge) because I didn’t want to cause a scene as my mom & guests were having an AMAZING time! At the end of the day, it was all worth it! Zia was rude and very impersonal! It was so obvious that he did not want to even try to accommodate us and that is what frustrates me the most. Had I not shown up when I did, he would never have returned my calls. By the way our server Robert O. was great, he gets 5 stars, but unfortunately it only takes one bad apple to ruin the barrel.
