Valentin‘s date dinner! We sat by the window and had such a lovely time. We have eaten here many times over the years and the food quality doesn't disappoint. Service was excellent. The only drawback was my blackened cod entrée was quite small (4 oz maybe, but uncertain),in a lovely pool of broth with some shaved fennel on the side. Quite a tiny portion for the price! Taste was light and flavorful, but it definitely needed something more. I ended up ordering a side dish just so I could feel like I had a “meal“ the server was excellent and the food timely. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to any and all. Perfect for date night!
Great evening. Saw some friends and had a nice meal. Food was slight over priced for quality. Service was excellent. Was a bit loud at times, but I think that is intentional and the code they are going for. Drinks we goo and had a great wine selection. Food pairing recommendations were a plus.
This place is always great. They use high quality ingredients and prepare everything perfectly. The people who work there are an eclectic group, but they are all friendly and give great service.
Food was bland and lacking flavor. Value for the $ was extremely poor. Service was just OK. The best part of the meal was the dark manhattan and the pinot noir. Black cod was a 2" square piece of fish about 1/2" thick for $39 - undercooked and blah! My wife ordered the bolognese - it was noodles with brown sauce (no flavor). Our guests ordered the bolognese as well and the filet, which was - again underwhelming according to him. All in all, not a good experience - can't even say it was OK....it was just extremely disappointing - especially since we had such high expectations.
Always a recommendation to friends and family. Forever one of my favorites in Kansas City!
Amazing service, incredible food! Get reservations, especially on the weekend. Worth the wait!!!

Great food. Service was not the best. We sat at the bar and it wasn't too busy but the bartender wasn't paying attention to us
Haven't been in a while and I forgot what a great experience it was. Monday was half of bottles of wines. Bread service came with whole olives. Every course was wonderful. Most come back soon.

I met up with my good friends for breakfast and ordered the quiche that was absolutely delicious and a side of bacon that was also cooked exactly as I love it. Beautiful ambience and great service ! 😋
Best of the best - hands down! Breakfast with a sprinkle of lunch are our go-to’s, but they’re really known for Dinner.
Cheers!

My favorite KC breakfast spot! Absolutely recommend the waffles with berry compote and the Brioche French toast. Delicious food, great service, and a perfect spot to meet up with friends over an amazing meal & drinks.

Overall, Room 39 has a lot going for it in terms of atmosphere but here are a few feedback points on service and food to take them from good to great. At this price point, there are other restaurants in the area the do it better for the same price. The food should taste better for a $200 meal.
-Space dishes out more when guests order all at once. We asked it to be paced but we finished our courses in under 45mins.
-The bolognese lacked salt
- The cod was perfectly cooked but came out cold
- The risotto lacked richness. Needed more fat and seasoning.
- Drinks were good (We had wine and a Black Manhattan) but the timing was off. We ordered drinks well before our dessert so it was disappointing to have to wait until halfway through eating dessert for the drink. The bar was not busy at this time.
