I doubt that one could find a more elegant restaurant setting. Massive columns surround a fountain located in the center. Dining is spacious, both around the fountain and in an area slightly above the courtyard. One orders food in a very efficient manner. There is a wide selection of lunch offerings. And, the food is well prepared and delicious. Staff is friendly, and brings the food to your table. I found it to be an excellent dining experience.

Really surprised at how good it was!
Cafeteria style ordering before sitting down so my expectations were low, but the service was swift, so profesional and friendly, and the food was delightfully good!
We had the summer tomato sandwich and and strawberry and arugula salad and they both exceeded our expectations. I loved the vinaigrette on the salad and the soft ciabatta bread on the sandwich.
Would recommend to anyone looking for a special lunch date spot!!

Not sure what’s happened since Covid, but the quality has suffered a bit. Food and service used to be outstanding but the last few visits the entrees arrive cold and half-heartedly arranged, ingredients especially the produce are dull and wilted and staff is slow to respond and seems unmotivated, which makes the high prices seem undeserved.

For a museum that can afford millions on a new addition I’d expect a restaurant that equals that sort of investment.

Atmosphere is still excellent.

I used to look forward to trying Roselle Court's cake options when visiting Nelson-Atkins Museum pre-covid, but this experience with their new management under American Dining Creations took away all the joy I once had coming here. The tart's crust was still frozen and extremely hard to break unless I put my whole arm's weight on the fork from above. The cake itself was very poor in flavor and quality—similar to what you would find at Sodexo, rather than restaurant quality. Their original chocolate cake option turned out to only include a tiny sliver that tasted like a mini Safeway cupcake without the cream on top. These cakes were extremely overpriced for what they were ($8.50 per plate) and poor quality—a shame considering how beautiful this court area is, and how delightful the experience once was with good food.

Other things to note: The water dispenser used to have lemons or limes in it, but now it has neither. The coffee came in a small ceramic cup and it tasted like very weak instant coffee—definitely not what you would expect for $3.50. The cashier was very slow and unapologetic about the long wait between ringing up customers. All of the professionalism and care I once experienced here was no longer present. Considering how the cakes plus the coffee made me feel unwell afterwards, and I cannot imagine myself coming here again.

Great experience
Hard to find similar places in the USA.
If you live in Kansas city you should visit everyday. If you’re not live in Kansas City you must visit at least one time in your life.
Atmosphere is totally great. Feels like you’re in the Europe..

I only drink coffee so I do not expect so much but the vibe was perfect. I really like this type concept cafe’s because others are boring. If you will drink coffee alone, just go there and watch the beautiful place and also it is in a museum. You can see different arts.

Food was a bit overpriced for what it is, expect to pay 15+ per person.

The food is overpriced for what it is. In addition, the menu descriptions are very misleading. Quite honestly, unless it's for coffee and maybe a dessert, I would not go back.

The atmosphere was beautiful! The food was delicious - we got the turkey wrap, fried chicken BLT, and Mac n cheese. The Mac n cheese was our favorite for sure. The key lime pie was also delicious!

Fantastic spot inside the museum to hang out and grab a quick snack. There were a lot of menu items that were not available but we still got something great.

All of the “grilled” veggies are served cold. The portions feel like a slap in the face from the wealthy board. The restaurant is certainly NOT for the community- at least not 99% of it.

The space is absolutely stunning with a beautiful fountain and colonnades around a central courtyard. The staff are helpful and friendly and service was very good. The food was really disappointing- I ordered the garden salad with tofu and the salad itself was wilted, the tomatoes mushy and the cucumber was dry, the “roasted sweet potato” promised in the menu was in fact some cold, mushy white potato wedges that looked like they came off someone else’s leftover plate. My companion had the turkey wrap and the bread was dry and stale with soggy, over-vinegared salad and processed turkey. Neither of us could eat the food so we left it all and went elsewhere. A waste of $45!

As a member of the museum, my family and I enjoy coming to the museum and gabbing a bite to eat at the food court and what a court it is. Great food, kind and prompt service

Cafe style food that satisfied our hunger & gave us energy to visit the art museum. The Chicken Salad Sandwich & Homemade Potato Chips was tasty with just the right amount of lettuce & tomato on top of a scrumptious croissant. The Turkey Wrap & Homemade Potato Chips could have had a lot more Turkey! Biscuits & Gravy were good with yummy fried potatoes & cheesy eggs. The kids plate was well balanced with cheesy eggs, bacon, potatoes, fruit & a cookie. Good food for a museum cafe - we spent $71 on food & $14 on parking but this fabulous museum is free general admission! So the costs kind of balanced out for a full serving of food, art and fun.
