I had the omelet of the day, it was good! The service was a little slow, but the staff were friendly. Overall, had a good brunch with friends!

I only got a latte here but eventually that felt more foamy than milky. Staff were fine and the atmosphere was quiet and pleasant. Not sure I'd shop there again when you have other coffee shops close by and other clothes and stores selling nick nacks.

I did the famous fried chicken as my main course. Not sure how they are all of a sudden famous but thats their claim i guess. I can tell the quality of the bird was good but the execution of the cook was disappointing / ruined it. Crispiness was good but flavor was really meh. Maybe they used the oil too long. It left a gross after flavor (really oily) that just wont go away from my mouth.I also tried the burnt ends that are a piggyback on real kc burnt ends. I regret sharing that with visitors, they arent up to kc standards and wish restaurants like this would stop trying in that direction. All at premium prices, charged more than the restaurants that do it right. Service was very slow. They do not have a good enough ambiance where i want to held up for over 2 hours at the place. Killed the evening for me.

Absolutely everything on the menu is fantastic. The farm-to-table food is generally higher quality and more ethically sourced, and kitchen staff do an incredible job a maintaining flavor and richness without adding unnecessary greasiness to the food.Cocktails are not cheap (but reasonable), and crafted to high standards without shorting you on spirit.Highly recommend.

At Rye, the journey begins with appetizers that set the stage for a remarkable dining experience. Start your meal with the deviled eggs and cheese curds, a delightful combination of familiar favorites with a Midwestern twist. The deviled eggs are crafted to perfection, with creamy yolks and a hint of tanginess, while the cheese curds offer a satisfying crunch with each bite, showcasing the richness of locally sourced cheese. For the main course, indulge in the comforting flavors of the heartland with the chicken and dumplings, a soul-warming dish that transports you to Grandma's kitchen. Tender pieces of chicken are simmered in a hearty broth, accompanied by pillowy dumplings that melt in your mouth, creating a harmonious blend of textures and flavors.Alternatively, savor the succulent short ribs, a standout entree that exemplifies the culinary mastery of Rye's chefs. Slow-cooked to perfection, the short ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender, infused with rich, savory flavors that tantalize the taste buds. Accompanied by seasonal vegetables and expertly prepared sides, each bite of this dish is a symphony of taste and texture, leaving you craving for more.At Rye, every dish tells a story of tradition, craftsmanship, and passion for Midwestern cuisine, making it a dining experience to remember.

My sister and I came here for lunch during restaurant week. The atmosphere is great and it's right on the plaza with a parking garage a 3 minute walk away as well as street parking which was a huge plus for us.We both ordered the Caesar salad and two pieces chicken meal. I ordered an espresso martini as well. The Caesar salad was fresh and the croutons were well seasoned with hints of garlic, but it tasted like someone had added salt on top of the salad which caused the dish to be extremely salty and take away from the experience. The fried chicken meal looked and tasted as if everything was made in house which we appreciated. The wings were moist and the larger breast piece was as well (although my sister's was a bit dry in places). The potatoes had a nice texture with a buttery and subtle sour cream taste. The pickles offered a nice bite to cut through the heaviness of the dish. However, the potatoes and chicken were both undersalted, which was very noticeable after the oversalted Caesar salad. The espresso martini was great, they made the espresso fresh.Overall, the ambiance was great and you could tell they made everything in house with an emphasis on local ingredients. However, the inconsistencies in the seasoning on the salad/entree dishes did effect the experience in a negative way.
