Sankofcafe has definitely fell off when it comes to customer service and food quality. Rice hard as a rock 2 small as piece of chicken cooked dry as hell and because they showed us the food nothing can be done about the quality, I guess we should have tasted it before we left. They didn't put my beef Pattie in the bag cause the worker was too busy arguing about the amount of food given. Yeap I want be back too many Jamaican restaurants to have to deal with this and it's sad I been going there since they opened.

I had there brown stew yesterday it like its been sitting around the day I will never be back and it wasn't authentic Jamaican brown stew at all the beans and peas was dry I will definitely not be back!

The food was incredible and very reasonably priced. There was limited indoor seating and no table service as most customers probably get their food to go. Authentic Jamaican food and live music.

The restaurant needs a little bit of work with the visual set up however the politness of the gentleman and lady was wonderful the oxtails yalll!!!!! They are amazing and suuuuper tender they fall of the bone and the flavors are heavenly the nostalgic fried plantains were very nice for me to enjoy and the broth based chiken curry was delicious I didn't order cabage but I still ate it and it was delicious ??? can't wait to go back for more ???

The staff was very friendly and very welcoming. The jerk chicken salad was to die for. It was so good I had to purchase 2 more for lunch the next day and my hubby.

I went in and ordered brown stew chicken. I’m a Jamaican and I feel this is no where near authentic Jamaican food. There’s no browning in the BROWN stew chicken it’s a very light brown and soupy. The rice and peas are bland. The cabbage is more like an American cabbage, & I’ve never been to a Jamaican restaurant that offers cornbread or a roll. No ma’am. I won’t be back, ever again. The lady that rung up more order was very kind and extremely customer service oriented.

Don't be fooled by the outside, the inside was warm and inviting. We got Ox, Goat and the Jerk Chicken. We all agree that the Goat was the best we ever had.

I ask to have the chef to come out & let me slap him the food was so good!!! I NEVER had okra and onions YES, okra & onions taste so good. The lady at the front said everything is good and pointed at their sign on their menu that said “Best oxtail in KC!!! Oh yes they get the crown!!!!

Love this Jamaican place, owners are pretty cool, food is a must!

You won't believe how amazing the oxtails were - they were definitely the highlight of the meal! And let me tell you, the sides were equally impressive! Trust me, you don't want to miss out on this meal!

Exciting atmosphere. Greeted very well. I just thought I would get more for my dollar. But if you go two hours before they close you will not probably be able to get a fair portion for your price. They were out of everything besides oxtail. Being it was towards the end of the day you will not get what you thought you were coming in for and they did not try to compensate for their lack of menu items. I do understand if they running out they obviously have good food. But Sheesh I wanna eat too. But this being my second time here and getting the same portions. I'm good on returning. I'll make my own.
