I ordered vanilla latte. For service and atmosphere alone I’d rate this place a 5. Outside seems a fun haven with pillows on a bench, cute rustic touch of interior door placed on top of a glass pull door. Inside is an open space with comfy couches and a raised section where people can sit and mingle or work, sort of like a mezzanine. There’s a community board by the utensils/condiments table against the wall. Lots of live plants around that give the space its haven feel.
There’s owner Deana who is very warm and friendly. We chatted our way about her shop in a community that is developing. She greets everyone knowing their names and complimentary of everyone that really makes their day. First visit here in Kansas and I absolutely love the people and you feel pride of community as shown by the locals hanging out at this coffee shop. See you again Deana for sure!

My fiancé and I absolutely love coming to Core! It’s local, so you instantly feel the coziness and friendliness of the store AND the staff. They have a big menu so there’s always something new to try. I’m always looking for an iced matcha, and they have an extensive matcha menu which you don’t see at many other places. The staff absolutely makes the place and we look forward to our conversations each time we go in!

Stopped in for a late breakfast and got the brunch burger and an iced mocha. The burger was filling, fresh, and had a nice mix of flavors. The iced mocha was smooth with a good balance, not too sweet. Service was quick, the staff was friendly, and the space was clean and relaxed. I’ll definitely be back to try more.

Any cyclists in KC seeking an incredible coffee spot, after a long ride, to refuel your body, mind & spirit? Seek no more! CORE COFFEE is the answer. Great atmosphere, the most delicious specialty coffee drinks (or regular Joe, if you prefer), pastries and even a breakfast + lunch menu. Owned and managed by a couple who lives in the neighborhood - Pendleton Heights. They work onsite daily @CC and truly care about their customers.

Perhaps discrimination? Never walked out of a coffee shop so fast.

I walked in and greeted the barista (she didn’t say anything back but we made eye contact). The man picking up his coffee said he was going to grab a pastry after me but to serve me first. Before I could offer him to go first, the barista pulled out the pastries and ignored my presence. He apologized to me but I told him it was totally fine, it wasn’t his fault. The entire environment was awkward so I went ahead and opted for a different shop down the road. Super weird for an adult to treat customers like that!

6/1/2025: amazing! CORE COFFEE - KC MO. Delicious coffee; the barista (Deana, co-owner with her husband, Eric) makes incredibly good espresso & matcha drinks. She can make anything! Food - cooked by Eric - is wonderful. Great hang-out spot. Lots of locals / regulars, but they welcome everyone. Support small business!!!

Core Coffee & Eatery offers a refreshing blend of great coffee and healthy food options. The atmosphere is modern and relaxing, perfect for working or catching up with friends. The staff is friendly and efficient, and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. Definitely a spot worth revisiting for breakfast or lunch!

My husband and I got breakfast and coffee/matcha here recently(all of it was delicious). The owners were very welcoming and the coffee shop had such a cute and friendly vibe. We will definitely be back the next time we come to KC!

Nice atmosphere, decorated with live plants and artwork. The parking is streetside, but I didn't have any trouble finding a spot. I had a chai late, which was a bit sweeter than I prefer, but still good. The drip coffee was good, too!

Cute little spot, excellent breakfast sandwich. I had one of the best London Fogs ever. Their Rose Matcha (iced) is really, really good. Friendly service.

First off, service and environment are top-notch. I'm from NY and am very particular about cafes, too. I had the vegan tacos, pumpkin spice latte, and a cinnamon roll. All delicious! Definitely returning when I visit KC again.

You may call us creatures of habit, we found this amazing coffee shop in KC on our first full day there and when I say it was healing, I mean it. We had full intentions on finding a few local coffee shops during our stay but after visiting @corecoffeekc we knew we had found where we needed to be. The relaxing chairs, quiet atmosphere, friendly and personal owners (Deanna and Eric) and slow pace was exactly what we needed. The core breakfast was Dana’s go to and mine the avocado toast. The coffee is incredibly flavor forward, meaning you don’t just get sugary coffee but rather can taste the flavor and coffee mingling together. I think my favorite had to be the brown sugar cinnamon which Deanna makes the syrup in house! It is like a hug for your insides. So warm and comforting. Deanna remembered our names and even took time to sit and get to know us and that truly meant so much. If you’re in KC make a stop by Core Coffee, it’s truly worth it, believe me. #coffee #corecoffee #kcadventures #kc #mo
