Chicken fried steak was good not great ,mash potatos needed help tasted like maybe instant or something mine at home are WAY better, gravy was just ok good not great, chicken livers were good and yes huge portions ,green beans were like frozen or canned should be fresh dont think they were ,may or may not try a 2nd time.

Fantastic fried chicken dinner with all the trimmings!
Was there almost two hours, early afternoon, so not dinner hour. There was a long wait in between soup/salad and main course. One member in the party thought we were served instant mashed potatoes.Practice of Restocking extra unused take home boxes from the tables after guests left. One server wiped the bottom of the take home boxes after she noticed something on it before putting it back in the stack to pass out to the next table that needed them. Hard telling how many fingers had touched the take home boxes as they were passed from one guest to another as they determined who needed a box and who didn’t.Dietary restrictions: Very few options for Gluten-free.
I hadn't been to a Stroud's since the one in South KC on 85th St slid into the creek. The food was still amazing the cinnamon rolls still rock and the chicken fried steak is still amazing. The service was pretty standard, good not above and beyond. Which is fine. The view out the window to the pond is amazing but they shove in too many tables. Overall, excellent. Exactly as I remembered.

Best fried chicken anywhere! Gravy made from the pan drippings. Big cinnamon rolls. Super service! One of our favorite places. Come hungry!!!
Stopped by Strouds when visiting the KC area. The property is unique but I came for good food. The fried chicken was nothing special. I was in a very large party and 6 people ordered the chicken fried chicken or steak and everyone said the gravy had zero flavor. I think most of our party left unsatisfied with the meal. I would say the chicken noodle soup was probably the best thing I had there, but it wouldn't make me come back.
