Taco Naco has a very bright and colorful atmosphere. The service was friendly and helpful. They serve food in a casual self service counter order style.
They offer an assortment of tacos, nachos, burritos, tamales and a few other items.
We tried the Six Salsa Sampler, which was quite tasty with a variety of flavors that start with no heat and get progressively hotter. I think my favorite was the Tamatillo Jalapeno verde. The Peanut Matcha salsa was very tasty, but getting up to the unpleasantly hot level for most people. The SO liked the Creamy Jalapeno. They will let you choose your assortment, so you can go milder. Unfortunately they are all served in small plastic to go containers, so a lot of plastic.
Cantina Rojo (mild)
Tex Mex Rojo (mild)
Pico de Gallo (mild)
Tamatillo Jalapeno (medium)
Creamy Jalapeno (spicy)
Peanut Matcha (very spicy)
Roasted Fuego (very spicy)
Habanero (Presumably the hottest)
The Potato Pipian taco was quite tasty, especially topped with the flavorful salsa that we each choose.
The Mushroom Mole was alright, personally I thought the mole sauce was very bland and it didn't stand out, plus the mushrooms were kind of mushy - it was workable but not my favorite. The SO did quite enjoy them though, so take it with a grain of salt.
The tacos are small, so if you are hungry you would probably need to order 3-4+, unless you have some sides in there. Reasonably priced, but they do add up easily.
The place is half-bar, if alcohol is or is not your thing. Drinks are mostly soda or alcoholic, although they may have had some sort of a fresh house made tea or juice based drink.
They have a line of outdoor bar seating facing the street if the weather is nice or there is a festival going on.
All in all it was a pleasant visit with good food and company. Will definitely check it out again sometime. They have a few sides we haven't had a chance to try.
Vegetarian options: So they only have a couple of vegan tacos on the menu, the Potato Pipian, and the Mushroom Mole.
They do have several sides, including Six Salsa Sampler, Guac & Chips, Salsa & Chips, Mexican Rice, Chiles Toreados, and a Kids Bean Taco.
Not a huge selection of options, but definitely tasty and worth checking out if you are reasonably nearby.
Dietary restrictions: They have at least a couple of dairy free, strictly vegetarian AKA vegan options as far as tacos ...
Parking: It is on the edge of Westport so parking options aren't great.
If you go during the day or at quieter periods it isn't too bad, evenings on Fridays or Saturdays are likely going to be more challenging.
Basically you are driving around trying to find an open street parking spot. If you don't mind walking a bit or paying for parking there are some lots in the area here and there.
Kid-friendliness: It is half-bar, so probably not a good evening spot, but during the day for lunch it is probably a reasonable option.
I suspect that they have highchairs, but didn't specifically take note.
They do have a kid's menu with some basic options like a bean taco.

The food is decent, service has been good and drinks fresh. I was surprised to see dine-in queso be served in a plastic container, as well as my drink in a plastic cup. Outdoor patio was awfully dusty and would only take 2 minutes to wipe down.

Excellent place. Several vegan tacos on the menu. Great guac. Casual vibe and margaritas with a spicy salted rim. Do it!
Vegetarian options: Two creative vegan tacos on the menu.

Flavor profiles are solid and blend delightfully. Definitely carries Westport vibe and pricing though. But I'd rather a good $15 burrito over a trashy $8.
Only downside to tacos de lengua is the amount of meat you get. For $3.50 I would like a little more than 2 chews worth. But as per usual with these guys it's fire.
Salsa's are actually spicy and full of flavor. Not watered down AND $5 Modelo while you wait for take out
Overall. 8/10 solid go to spot definitely better than Pancho's/ranchos

Restaurantji Recommends
Literally the best birria tacos in kc, comes with a nice selection of sides to mellow out the heat. Most Mexican places tailor the spices to the average “Americans” taste buds but they keep it authentic and it’s definitely working! Everything I’ve tried has been amazing, and they definitely deserve more hype!
