Awesome French cuisine with antique furnishings, great atmosphere, food and drinks.

Update: this is from around a year ago so apologies for late entry. We went there to treat parents of son's friend who hosted him for a trip. Service adequate at best during meal. I ordered duck and I should've sent it back - tough as leather. After choking that down and we paid, a manager said we had to leave since other reservations coming in. I didn't see that they were full at that time. He made no effort to direct us either to their fully open back deck or to go across the street to their affiliated cocktail bar. No plans on ever going back.

Wanted to like this place but just way over priced for ordinary, average food. I'm out of over $100 for a meal I could made at home & MUCH BETTER. Save your money folks cause with the exception of the friendly servers & lovely , interior ambiance, the food quality & the value added, just isn't there. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø....wine was good tho... Oh, they charge a 3% credit card fee.

If you’re craving a truly European dining experience in the Midwest, Tailleur on Main absolutely delivers. We opted for an early dinner, and even though it gets dark early this time of year, that actually worked in our favor because upstairs the lighting was perfect. Dim enough to feel romantic, bright enough to appreciate the space.

The ambience is classy with gorgeous attention to detail. The seating is a bit close knit, so prepare for an intimate setting, but the dƩcor more than makes up for it. There are mirrors everywhere, something any woman can appreciate since it eliminates those mid date bathroom trips just to make sure you still look cute.

Service was quick, friendly, and knowledgeable. I ordered a Dark and Stormy, and it was delicious: strong, balanced, and crafted well enough that it didn’t taste like straight liquor, which I always appreciate.

For food, we shared the mussels and the Double Royal burger with fries. Portions were generous, definitely enough to split and still have leftovers. A lot of upscale spots tend to skimp on quantity, but that wasn’t the case here at all. And honestly, niche reference, but that burger might be the best I’ve had since the Carnival Cruise burger. It was that good. The mussels were solid too, but the burger absolutely stole the show.

Overall, I’d recommend this spot for cocktails with the girls or a cozy, intimate date night. I’m already looking forward to coming back.

What a great experience. We live within walking distance, we went on a Monday without reservations and they were able to accommodate us. I do recommend having reservations. It was busy for a Monday. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and tastefully eclectic. I had the Rigatoni, it was very flavorful, the fresh red pepper gave it some bite in a very balanced way YUMMY! My wife had the salmon. It was cooked to perfection. Not sure what the sauce was... but it added to the taste in such a great way. We finished our meal with their chocolate cake, not your typical flour less cake. It was not dry, their was some sort of a fluf stuff on top and the entire thing covered in chocolate... supper yummy. It is a Run do not walk to this place. The only thing better than the food was the company I was with. I highly recommend.

The service was impeccable, from our first greeting arriving at the restaurant to the timing of our dishes arriving at the table, all the way through our departure. Our meal was excellent. We had the pork shank and the salmon, and both were perfection. The focaccia was delicious, and our desserts were both wonderful as well! The ambiance was lovely. It was a busy Saturday night, but we never felt rushed or crowded. This was our first visit, but it will definitely not be our last!

This whole experience is a vibe—especially the high tea. Throw on a floral dress, pop on your fascinator, grab your girls, and head to Tailleur. The food is superb, the tea is piping hot, and the brass accents transport you to another era.
