Owner Delays Tea Party
I walked in one morning with my two little princesses to prepare for a tea party. I discovered in my rush to get two toddlers out of the house I had forgotten my credit card. The first sales associate was polite and accommodating. She let me know that they accepted Apple Pay. My girls and I sniffed and a tasted a few samples. As the only customer in the store, I stood in a corner on my phone for a few mins configuring Apple Pay on my phone when another woman, with the posture of the owner approached us. With the warmth of a hissing cobra and apparent annoyance she asked if we were going to buy anything. I explained I was trying to setup Apple Pay, which I finished seconds after we were rudely approached. I immediately left and thank them, as I departed.
I was gifted a couple teas from the Tea Market and love them so much that I came in a bought two large tins! Great quality loose teas! I also love that I can order a tea to drink while I'm shopping! Thanks Tea Market!
I came in for some tea. I was told that 2 oz was the least I could buy of each tea despite the fact that their website offers 1 oz packs and the pricing in store is by the oz. I was hoping for some hojicha but the lady there said it was Japanese twig tea in an incredulous tone. The perception that hojicha is "inferior tea" because it is made from twigs is a common misconception. In reality, hojicha is a unique and valued type of Japanese green tea with its own distinct qualities. And ironically , those British teas in stock are literally the result of Europeans being incapable of storing and transporting tea. The prices were high for the quality . I get the whole gentrified shop thing it's not my cup of tea unfortunately. I wouldn't have gotten anything if it wasnt a quick gift. I was hoping for a place that was forthcoming and personable and the ambiance was akin to a DMV. I will continue to get quality tea from Yunnan sourcing. It is very disappointing that this is what the kc area has to offer.
I have been buying from The Tea Market for years, I love their black teas and matcha, and everything else I have tried. My favorite tea shop for sure! ?
I've followed them forever on Facebook and finally made it to the shop. Ruth was so above and beyond...showing me all around, making me feel welcome and taught me SO much! Wow...this tea is AMAZING...night and day different from what you buy off a grocery store shelf. Packed with flavor!
I cant wait to go back!!! Thank you Ruth!!!
I discovered this charming tea shop on one of my frequent visits to Kansas City to see my daughter and her family. It has such a great selection and I always enjoy trying their sample of the day tea.
I have been going to the tea market for years, great people, great tea
This tea shop is the real deal. Quality teas in a great variety of mixes and pure leaf fill the shop from ceiling to floor, wall to wall with expert advise when needed and the accessories for making and storing quality teas. There's no pressure. It doesn't get any better than this.
There is nothing more fun than having a big variety of tea to match your mood or the season. Tea Market has a fantastic variety and I have a cabinet devoted to all the little tins of Stacey's blends. I'm a fruity tea lover and my cabinet is full! With the variety i decide flavor and caffeine content for the day. No long Starbucks line for me! However, if Stacey had a drive up window I would hit that line. Her staff is lovely and helpful to guide through the selection and process. Stop by for a new flavor to take home and get a glass to go.
My new favorite KC shop! A must visit for anyone who enjoys tea. I’m thoroughly enjoying KC Dynasty, SwifTEA and Sugar Cookie teas. Can’t wait to go back and pick out more teas!

Unfortunately I didn't have a good experience with this store. Seller lady was pretty pushy. While I was trying to get to the herbal teas, a crowd arrived in the store, and seller lady decided to make tea examples right in front of hearbs tea. There is a poor organization of working space in this store. My suggestion is to make a special place to prepare tea samples. I left without tea being confused and very sad. Probably i will drive to another tea store even if the closest one in the leathenworth.
Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Good selection and good prices
