Service was fast and the portions were generous. Worth every penny.

1st time trying. Stopped in for breakfast at 9am (which is when they open). Nice open dining area as well as a bar. Sat at the bar and was helped by Erica, who was very nice and helpful. Ordered the breakfast burrito with the sweet potato hash as the side at her recommendation. Delicious! Will definitely be back!

First off, our server was the best! It was family brunch with some of us home from out of town, along with a toddler. She gave us all the time we wanted to catch up over brekkie cocktails before we ever ordered food, and then let us chill for a while after we ate. It wasn't busy, or we would've let her table go. Everyone who worked there was kind, and no one rushed us out.

Now for the food. I got the pick 4 option with pancakes, bacon, eggs, and breakfast potatoes. The bacon was especially good, and I'm a connoisseur! Cakes were yummy, as were the potatoes. Nothing super special, just good solid breakfast food. I'm pretty sure I only received one scrambled egg, but hey, I get it. The mimosa flight was nice. Personally, I would've liked a little more 🍾 in them. This is only a few blocks from me, so I'll definitely be back!

Kind staff, no wait, and great food! Been here twice and both times were great experiences. :)
I recommend the chicken and waffles and mimosa flight, both were sooo good. The chicken is crispy and flavorful. :) A cute neighborhood spot!

The food wasn't what I expected. I ordered French toast with scrambled eggs and cheese. The French toast wasn't good, and my scrambled eggs with cheese weren't blended in. The shredded cheese was just placed on top of it.

Go to spot for excellent breakfast and lunch! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

I had their portobella sandwich with fries. Both were excellent, in my opinion! Even their coffee was delicious. I'd eat here again! Free parking is across the street. They will validate!!! Updated from previous review on 2025-01-23

We had the biscuit board. The biscuits were AWFUL. Tough, dry, not flaky, heavy, just all around bad. The rest of the board was AMAZING - gravy, bacon, chicken. A note from a scratch biscuit maker - you're overworking the dough, at least whoever was making biscuits last Saturday was. Get that together and you have a gem! The prices were very fair for the portions and the service was 10/10!

Food was mediocre and served room temperature. I found it to be pricy based on food quality. Service was fantastic.

Homesteader, a wonderful Kansas City based local restaurant with mostly local foods. We've been there many times for breakfast or brunch but now they're open for dinner too. Crab cake appetizer was delicious.I had the chili entree with rice and tortillas and it was melts-in-your-mouth wonderful. The carrot cake was soooo yummy. A lovely relaxing dinner!

Update: even though they no longer serve dinner, their brunch is fantastic.

Next day after wedding brunch at Homesteader was delicious! Portobello Sandwich was great and filling. Biscuits hit the spot on a chilly sunny day. Nice atmosphere! Great brunch spot near the Kansas City market, street car and plenty of parking!

This is must go to, if you're in KCMO. The service is always top notch as is the food! (Thank you Megan and Team!) This is our third visit this year, we're visiting from St.Louis! We had the Ham Benedict, smoked ham and perfectly poached eggs with a great hollandaise sauce. The English muffin is always lightly grilled and has a little crisp to it. Delicious sweet potato fries (locally sourced) Our server Onna was delightful. We are looking forward to our return in 2025.
