Mixing Bowl on the Go

Originally I was so excited for the mixing bowl to be our caterer for our wedding! The owner I communicated with was very kind and helpful. Unfortunately, FOUR MONTHE before the wedding, my (now) husband obtained orders with the military and I found out I was pregnant. I canceled the wedding and let all vendors know. Stephanie responded saying she would reach out to me soon as I was within our contract cancelation policy as the wedding was in FOUR MONTHS from cancellation and we paid everything within a week or two of signing the contract. After reaching out in June via email I have heard nothing from her, I have emailed her twice since then. My husband also called her several times and spoke to her after the time of wedding in September inquiring about why we hadn’t received a refund as it was within our contract. I am a first responder and he is in the military, Stephanie was given several different deadlines as we understand life and business is hard but we signed a contract and now feel like we were taken advantage of and simply want a refund. We are fine with a payment plan for that refund as well. If the owner would please email or call us as soon as possible that would be great. I have waited as long as possible but with the shut down, I can’t wait any longer. We want our refund that we signed our contract stating we would get.

Did a wonderful job catering my wedding

When we first started working with Mixing Bowl On The Go, I was really impressed. Communication was great, the owner seemed genuinely eager to meet all of our needs, and she offered extras like chargers, napkins, cutlery, and plates at no additional cost. She was also helpful when it came to planning our Italian buffet and cocktail hour with a charcuterie grazing table. At the beginning, it felt like we had made a solid choice.

Unfortunately, things changed as the wedding got closer. She did ask for payment months in advance due to a personal situation, but I paid on time according to our contract. After that, the communication started to feel off. We had gone over details several times—how napkins should be folded, where wrapped cutlery would be placed—and she originally planned to come the night before to set up, but canceled last minute due to personal reasons. Her helper came instead but didn’t bring enough chargers, and the napkins weren’t folded as discussed. I was told they’d return later that evening with the rest of the items, but they never showed up.

On the day of the wedding, my day-of coordinator struggled to reach her, and she arrived late—still setting up the cocktail hour as I was about to walk down the aisle. Later, when we were ready to start dinner, we found out they didn’t even bring the cutlery. It wasn’t wrapped, and it wasn’t the silverware we agreed on. Had we known, my coordinator could’ve gotten a backup set, but we weren’t given the chance. That delay caused a ripple effect through the rest of the evening, and we ran out of time for some of the photos.

As for the food, some guests said they enjoyed it, but I found my pasta undercooked, the alfredo watery and bland, and the garlic bread disappointing. The worst part? I later learned that about 10 guests didn’t get any food at all. Our final guest count was 153 (paid for and discussed 1 month prior to the wedding), but with last-minute dropouts, only around 140 showed—yet it felt like food had only been prepared for 130 (the original # in the contract). Cocktail hour food was gone in 20 minutes, and it’s hard not to feel like we were shorted.

I called her the next day to express my concerns, but she was completely dismissive and didn’t take any responsibility.

I had high hopes for this vendor, but when it came time to follow through, they didn’t deliver. For the amount of money we spent, I expected better communication, preparation, and professionalism. I wouldn’t recommend this company to others.

They showed up 90 minutes late. The food was good and my granddaughter had a great time. I did not get everything that was promised, but I am getting a small refund, which is fine. Would I use them again, probably not.

I can't express enough gratitude to the amazing ladies who organized my baby shower! They went above and beyond with beautiful handmade decorations and delicious homemade food, all crafted with so much love and care. Every detail was perfect, and their hard work made the day incredibly special and memorable. Thank you for creating such a wonderful celebration for me and my family!! U know this is their passion bc u see it in every bow knot that was perfectly tied, and can taste it in every morsel, was heavenly!! This was such a beautiful experience that will stay with me and the people closest to me, forever. Thank u so much for creating these memories. Such a beautiful day, filled with so much love.

We had a baked potato bar catered for a work lunch, it was delicious! I would definitely recommend them! Thank you ladies!

Stephanie and Becky, Todd and I want to first say thank you so very much for all that you did to make our wedding so beautiful and special! Stephanie definitely exceeded our expectations. From beginning to end, Stephanie communicated and checked in with me. When I was unsure about what I wanted she was able to help guide me in the right direction. The day before the wedding they came out and transformed the empty tents and tables into something more beautiful than I could have imagined. Oh and the food… For dinner we chose spaghetti and meatballs, chicken Alfredo, Caesar salad, steamed vegetables. Every single dish was amazing and our guests enjoyed it so much they kept going back for more! For dessert we chose strawberry cheesecake, lemon cheesecake, and chocolate cake. Let me just say Oh. My. Goodness they were delicious! I cannot say thank you enough to the both of them for all of their hard work and for their incredible talent and service, we so appreciate you both! I highly recommend them for your catering needs!

I ordered food for 40 people I barely had enough to feed 20. Very disappointed. She was late arriving.

Breakfast burrito bar was amazing! We just wanted to say THANK YOU so much for the amazing food you provided for the Teacher Appreciation Week events this week! WOW, the teachers were so happy and thankful for everything. They had rave reviews on quality and taste! Everything was delivered on time and appreciated the warmers and silver/serving utensils. Top notch service, we will most certainly be using Mixing Bowl again for our catering needs!
