Had a very nice brunch here a while back. We went in to watch a soccer match and stayed for breakfast, the food was great and came quick. Cute small tavern, recommend!

While I had high hopes, the experience left me a bit disappointed.

The food was just okay. I ordered the patty melt, which was decent but nothing remarkable. The cheese fries were another letdown. They were basically just regular fries with a slice of melted cheese on top. No real effort or creativity here. The brussel sprouts were, unfortunately, burnt to a crisp—so much so that they were inedible. I couldn't even get through one bite.

As for the drinks, my fiancé and I each ordered Diet Cokes, but the server brought out a carafe of soda. By the time we got to the end of the meal, the soda had gone flat and was lukewarm. Not ideal, especially when you're paying for a drink to be fresh.

The atmosphere was another issue. The music was so loud that I could barely hear the person sitting across from me, and on top of that, they were playing FX movie channel on the TVs above us. It was a strange mix of noise, and honestly, it was hard to relax or enjoy the meal with all that going on.

Overall, The Pressed Penny didn’t live up to the expectations. The food was overpriced for what it was, the service had its quirks, and the atmosphere was a total miss. I won’t be returning anytime soon.

I worked here. The owner moved me to a new apartment and gave me 100 dollars just because. I still wear my PPT shirt around town and have some pressed pennies. Great food. Great family owners. The most cozy hidden gem in Kansas City!

Woah. Something changed recently and it was NOT good. Half the menu was unavailable and it was everything that's usually good here. It went from our little hidden gem to being served a plate of tater tots with melted kraft singles on top. We brought some friends here on a recommendation and were a little bit embarrassed to be honest. There is enough decent food in Kansas City that we won't be chancing it here again.

Place is HORRIBLE now. Used to be good but they removed 1/2 the items on the menu and the food isn’t great either. Most of the kitchen staff was outside or just standing around. Said we couldn’t add anything to a burger, only take things off. Tried to order appetizers but they were out of so many things. The bathroom looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a week or two. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

It was my first exam here & everyone was great the service the food don't sleep on this little gem. I'm definitely going back.

Used to be my favorite spot in Westport, but around this summer they went under new management and the place is seemingly having some growing pains. I really hope they get their groove back! I am a huge fan of their Dirty Spice and brussel sprouts, and the vibe of this place is just great. The staff is so kind and eccentric in the best way possible. Love them!! Definitely going to give it a bit of a break while they refigure their menu, but can’t wait to get back to being a regular!

Half of the menu was not available when we went. A decent place with good food but it took us an hour to receive our food once we placed our order. Understaffed and overall not a great experience. Closing until the menu is revamped and when you have enough staff to cover the crowds would be better than a tiny menu and slow service.

Izaack (major spelling guess) was phenomenal and a great server and bartender. Didn't like the drinks at first but he made sure to make them to out liking with a smile! Definitely would come back.
