My husband Ben & I have loved The Russell for years – the delicious, hearty, and nutritious food (especially their outstanding Burger!), the cozy decor, and the friendly service & atmosphere – so much so, that we asked them to cater our Wedding, and it was EXCEPTIONAL. I am certain this is THE place in Kansas City to trust with your special occasions. The food was perfect – we had steak, chicken, salmon, roasted vegetables and more served family style. For cocktail hour, we had an overflowing charcuterie spread. For both dinner and cocktail hour, their display is unmatched – it's bountiful, elegant, and warm. We even hosted our Rehearsal Dinner at The Russell, featuring wonderful lamb chops and some special sushi from their other fine dining restaurant, Noka. They provided a white glove, yet familial feeling service throughout the whole process. We are forever grateful for Amante, Natasha, Peter, Jolene, and the whole team at The Russell. ❤️

They stapled my receipt to the wrong order so I got the wrong items. There wasn't any labeling on 3/4 of the boxes. This was a very important lunch for a business meeting. I didn’t have enough food for all my attendees. The order was placed through Uber Eats so now I have to jump through the hoops of their overseas customer service.

Wow, what an upside surprise! Unassuming, rustic, relaxed vibe but once the Russell Bowl's delectably seasoned brisket hits your lips, you feel that heaven really can be manifested on this planet. Will be back.

This place never disappoints. They are still working on the best way to do pickup out front. If needed, it is easy to walk in to get their attention. They do not have a large dining space; but, they make it work. The food, whether it be the salads, the burger, or other things I have tasted, are FANTASTIC! I would eat here more if we were closer to downtown.
Dietary restrictions: They work with you on options, even though limited. You can eat here if you need to do gluten free and dairy free.
This salmon bowl is 10/10. The cookies? Also delightful. The staff is incredibly kind. The Russell is always reliable and a lovely spot.

Visiting from out of town, saw this pop up and decided to stop by. There is parking in the back of the restaurant and then you walk around to the front. Walking in it's a nice open setup. You go straight up to the counter and there are menus there. The lady at the counter helped with suggestions and I went with the steak chimi sandwich. You pay and go find a seat, it's open seating with several options of table sizes to accommodate 4,6, and a place for a bigger party of 8. Pretty close together so if a large part two tables would work.
Food came out in a timely fashion and I really enjoyed the taste of the sandwich, I wish it was a little bigger but it hits the spot.
A choice of chips comes with the sandwich and that's the meal. I would eat here again if back in the area in the future.

Wow is all I can say. This place is phenomenal, from the kindness and courtesy of the staff, to the eclectic and rustic atmosphere, to the delicious food. Everything is fresh, healthy, and absolutely wonderful. Chef and owner Amante checked on us and made sure everything was great, and was so warm and gracious. The food came out fast, freshly prepared, and there are so many healthy options. I could not recommend this place more for a quick lunch and I would definitely go back again and again if I lived in KC.
