As a former General Manager in restaurants and bars, I’ve seen my fair share of difficult situations — but what I witnessed at The Sandbox was downright embarrassing for the establishment. Manager Oscar was speaking to his employees in a loud, cutting, and condescending manner, right in front of paying guests. It wasn’t a one-off slip or a moment of frustration; it was a deliberate display of disrespect and ego. In this industry, great managers build strong teams, set the tone for hospitality, and treat their staff with basic human decency. What I saw was the complete opposite: a toxic, demoralizing approach that not only crushes employee morale but also makes guests uncomfortable. If this is how Oscar behaves on the floor, in full view of customers, it’s hard to imagine the culture behind the scenes. Leadership like this drives good employees away and drags down an entire business. The Sandbox should be ashamed to let someone like this represent them.

We always look forward to visiting Sandbox, and a big reason for that is McKenna! She’s hands down the best server we’ve had—consistently friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. We see her frequently, and every time she goes above and beyond to make sure we’re taken care of. Whether it’s remembering our usual order or just making the whole experience fun and easy, McKenna is truly a standout. Sandbox is lucky to have her!

food was really good. drink prices are a bit much. but this guy ryan was the bartender and accused me of posting some “are we dating the same guy” thing, and i don’t even know him. it was weird. pls do something about that. it was my first time going and i prolly wont go again. /:

At first, I thought Ryan was the best bartender—fun, flirty, great arms. But turns out, he mixes more lies than drinks. If you’re a woman, beware: he’ll charm you, date you, and then tell you that you’re the stalker… while juggling multiple women. Apparently, the only thing he serves faster than shots is red flags. Sandbox might have great drinks, but the drama behind the bar isn’t on the menu—unless Ryan’s working.

I recently came and had a horrible experience. Way too loud, wasn’t playing family friendly music during dinner, heat was unbearable. Servers actually looking like they were going to pass out, sweating, and running around like crazy. If I was sweating just sitting down, I couldn’t imagine them nor the cooks. This place needs better air conditioning, music, atmosphere, and service. Do better.

Surprisingly good food for what I would consider to be a sports bar. As the name suggests, the sand box refers to the multiple outdoor sand volleyball courts but they also have pickleball courts. The menu is diverse and changes from time to time to keep it interesting. Nothing on the menu will be a disappointment. Everything is good.
The 1 star rating is only in reference to the facilities. We play sand volleyball every week and are astonished how raggedy they have let this place become. Fences falling down, nets torn and hanging, rotted wood on the roof. Genesis should be embarrassed.
Also music selection is terrible. We are there playing a sport and I heard tears in heaven, im your lady. Everyone complains but they dont seem to care. We are taking our business to Centerline.
