Tokyo Japanese Steak House

Visited this long time family favorite and found it to be less than memorable. While the preparation followed the traditional script, the food lacked any robust flavors. The yum yum sauce - a mandatory addition to our shrimp - was watery and lacking in its flavor. After years of so many enjoyable meals there, the entire experience was surreal.

We’re hoping it was just an off night, but at $35 a meal, some apprehension to double down on what could be a bad decision.

Be aware that they have posted a sign that states due to rising costs their sodas and teas are now charged by serving. Not that we consume a great deal of either for this to be an issue. But one does reflect how much did the price of green tea bags go up to require another $2.50 be charged if I by chance needed another tea?

I went here on my birthday and completely regret it. Just stepping in the door you are hit with a terrible musty smell. When it comes to the food... the soup, steamed rice, and yellow sauce tasted terrible. The only good parts were the meats(steak, chicken, and shrimp). Service was average. Overall not an experience worth $28 a person with not even free drink refills.

The restaurant is filthy. If you are going to spend that amount of money, go to a nicer place. Food quality is way down from years ago.

Horrible horrible horrible do not eat this place if you’re looking for good habachi they have completely changed one being they charge 2.50 a refill on soda…. Second being the rice was under cooked and was churchy and honestly gross the meats were watery and incredibly tough the whole cooking process felt rushed and paid over $150 for 4 people do not recommend for any special occasions because it sure does disappoint now.

Needs to be updated inside of restaurant. I think it has the same carpet as when they opened.

I went for a solo dinner and was seated immediately. Our server came over fast but took a while to bring drinks besides water. While we waited for the chef, we were served soup which tasted like nothing…maybe some warmed water? I’m not sure what it was but it was horrible…the salad was mediocre at best, the dressing seemed just like a bottled something from Sysco. Nothing to write home about.

The chef was ok…fast but not giving the Hibachi experience very well. He didn’t cook the fried rice all the way, or the shrimp. He didn’t cook the steak properly either but I don’t mind it being more rare, it just wasn’t what anyone at the table ordered. Veggies were also noticeably undercooked. The flavor on these were alright, nothing great but not bad either.

I understand this may have been a new chef but he cooked for 7 of us in about 15 minutes. I probably won’t return to this location.

I will say, the “early bird” discount was great. This was because I arrived around 5:30 pm.

Had a great time celebrating my nephews birthday. Could have had more effort with the show but it was fun and everybody had a good time. Food was good. Price was average for hibachi.

Every time we go the portions just get smaller & smaller so that's extremely disappointing for the price we paid ($150 for four people). We found two hairs in our rice & the steak was bad. They even admitted to leaving the steak out of the fridge too long. The chef didn't even try making it a show like they usually do either. Just a very sad experience. Used to be a favorite dinner spot for our family but won't be returning again. A refund would've been nice

Food not as good as the last time I was there about 6 months ago. Prices have gone up and has gone down, very disappointed we were celebrating. Y husband's birthday.

We love hibachi and this place was a disappointment. Spent $85 on 2 meals and 2 drinks and didn't even eat our meals. Very little flavor, only thing decent was the salad. Definitely won't be back
