Disappointed After YEARS and YEARS of Loyalty! I’ve been coming to Volleyball Beach for way longer than I’d like to admit. It’s been decades and ever since the recent ownership change, the quality has gone noticeably downhill. I really tried giving it a chance, but the issues keep adding up. This is an honest account of what I have experienced and I would warn anyone wanting to go here to lower your standards and expectations because they obviously have. The staff have become extremely inconsistent with drink service. If you order while on the sand, good luck actually receiving what you asked for. Your drinks usually arrive after you’ve already moved to a different court. And don’t bother ordering a cold pitcher of water on a hot day because they will just take your money and forget. I quit ordering anything from them and I’m not the only one but it’s their loss in potential revenue. They also don’t enforce proper division placement. Captains aren’t required to ensure their teams are playing in the correct division, which leads to mismatched games and a very frustrating player experience. Also if you mention it to staff or the manager they do nothing about it. I saw a girl in a lower level get knocked out by an attack from a team that should have been playing in a higher division. That’s completely unacceptable. The staff often seems unsure of what’s going on, when you have a question they just throw up their hands and say idk, which only adds to the confusion and frustration for teams.
Also, good luck getting a ball that isn’t in rough shape. Most are worn, overfilled with air or not enough and have probably been used for 10+ years. To top it off, something that used to be a standard perk like T-shirt’s are no longer included and teams were not notified at any given point. Where’s our money going to? It’s going to an inconsiderate, uncoordinated and under staffed establishment. Don’t waste your time, energy or your hard earned money on this place. Overall, Volleyball Beach just isn’t what it used to be. I hope things turn around, but for now, it’s a major disappointment.
Excellent leagues, good food, place where you can meet good friends
A better than 50/50 chance of blow out games, and minimal to no effort to actually balance out the leagues is why I will not return after 2 years of playing.
Love volleyball beach. Great people out playing. Great atmosphere. Play for all levels of players, but recommend having some experience!
The bar tenders and staff still create a laid back and friendly atmosphere like Cheers... where everyone knows your name. They are amazing!
The physical space however has taken a nosedive. You walk in the door to a storage/office space that doesn't promote lingering. Outside there is trash in the corners, piles of brush and water filled tarps that promote bugs. Dangerous obstacles from the dome are not clearly marked.
I've been on leagues here since 1997. Yep, 28 years. So I knew the previous proprietors, they had a pride in ownership which seems to be lacking now.
Fun volleyball experience
Played sand volleyball here for the first time for a fundraiser tournament. Was impressed with how organized they were. Love that they water down the sand when it's getting too hot.
The option for food and drinks at the bar is nice! And their rates to host a tournament are super reasonable!
I love coming to play volleyball whether it’s in the dome or out in the summer sun! Great place to play v-ball and grab some bar food and drinks afterward!
Great place to stay active, get grounded (sand) and have a great time! Drinks delivered to each court, tasty bar food, great service and the best place to make new friends! Drink prices are a little high though.
Great sand volleyball year round, very good drink options, solid food and they have wait staff that bring drinks to the courts. League and tourneys for all skill levels.

We live close enough to hear the music and would like to sit outside without hearing offensive rap music, you all have to think about the nearby neighborhoods and how this effects us and our safety.
Game play consistent. Subbed at VBB Cameri. Matched up with known rivals/nemesis and a few new ones. Thanks to you Ryan & Sarah for asking me to sub for 3hrs! Create sparks on purpose and do it often!
Even though 9th game was called due to stormy weather, I am sure it would have been our W!
Great place to have fun! A mixture of exercise, drinks and laughs. Best staff of any volleyball joint in KC Metro.
By far the best beach volleyball experience in the midwest! Great staff and great courts! If you haven't tried it, you are missing out!!
Hands down, BEST place to play volleyball in the state. The staff, the people, the vibe, best in the biz.
