Jesus Christ, just come and enjoy it all.

So I’m a huge champion for all places downtown KC, as i am a local that lives in the Crossroads. But, this is the first, and only, establishment that I will tell locals and tourists to avoid. The first time we went to Voo Lounge there were very few people present during happy hour and we had some snacks and drinks. Live music was good. Problem was that the place just seemed to ‘forget’ that there were any specials and the bill was full freight on every thing we ordered. After calling attention to the issue it took 30 minutes to address it, and then they said all they could do is give a partial refund instead of the normal advertised happy hour price. So be it.Tonight we tried again. Three of us walked in to get a drink at the bar and the hostess stopped us and said we were not allowed to do so. When I asked why we couldn’t she said they were not allowing walk ins. Seeing 4 or 5 empty tables I just said to seat us at an empty table but she said she couldn’t because some “reservations’’ might be coming. Multiple groups behind us also got told there was nothing. So I said we are just going to get a drink and enjoy the music by standing, but she said we couldn’t. When I politely asked what we could do, she said ‘find another bar’. Which we did. We were there at least 20-30 minutes and no one showed up to fill these phantom reservations seats. This establishment, for some reason, thinks it’s fine to be incredibly rude. Skip this place. Many better options downtown.

Wasn't thrilled with our experience. Stopped in after dinner on a Saturday evening, made a reservation through their site just in case. Good thing we did as they weren't seating walk ins upon arrival. We requested the 2 seats at the bar but they said those were reserved- although the seats remained empty through our entire visit. The seating isn't desirable if you are wanting an intimate evening. The tables are very close together so there is no opportunity for the private conversation and it was very difficult to get in and out of your table without disturbing/bumping the others next to you. The service was VERY slow. We sat for more than 10 minutes before being greeted. The only reason we did stay is because the table next to us who over heard our comments said they "will come eventually and the live music is worth the wait". The music was about the only positive part of our experience. With all the craft cocktail bars in KC this is the very bottom of our list.

What a cute place! I would give it another try! Bartender was very sweet and certainly knowledgeable Not knowing where to park down there, I called in several times nobody could tell me how to get valet parking / what streets etc. I still don't know! So parking is a big minus. I sat for more than five minutes at the bar with no water or drink; there were only two other people besides our small group there in the bar. I was not given a menu until I asked for it (which came after my drink order). Finally decided on some yummy wonton nachos? Took a *very long time to prepare! When they were served, I had no napkin no silverware, and we had no plates to share. Had to ask for all. There really wasn't anyone else in the bar. Prices were very high. My drink was $19? ! I will give it a try another time. ??

Since this is downtown parking might not be easy besides that I do love their location. The food menu changes according to the season and the service were really really good. It's really a nice place where you can enjoy an evening with your loved ones or friends company by a good music. At first, I thought they serve some food that's really fancy and goes really well with your cocktail or wine

Nick was our bartender and was very attentive. Drinks were good, food was also good. The overall vibe and feel of VOO Lounge was very enjoyable. We will be back again for another outings a couple for sure.

My husband and I stopped informing drinks and were pleasantly surprised by the incredible music.

Nice place. Seems like they might be a little stretched for employees. Service was very slow. Music was …just ok. Probably wouldn’t come back…but overall just ok.

It was absolute freezing with AC blowing. Said something to the server and she said it's always like this and nothing she could do. We left after one drink. So did the table next to us. I was looking forward to listening to Drew 6. Definitely won't go back.

Very cool piece of Kansas City history that could have been gone forever, has been brought back to life. Go at least once, this isn't your average cocktail bar, it's an experience.

Drinks were good. We did not have any food. Service was not too bad except for the fact that our server did not even ask me if I needed change back. She kept a $12tip on a $38 tab. Voo however is a nice

Drinks and food were just okay. The shrimp cocktail was average and the drinks were not special. The ambiance was nice but definitely on the loud side. Live musician wasn't good on a Friday night. Tables are small so it's hard for large groups.

The Voo lounge is a super quaint place for drinks and small plates. However, I will tell you to read the fine print on any reservations. I'm a huge fan of one of the artists that was playing tonight and was super excited to see him. I rarely get out as I work two jobs. I made a point to make sure I got to see him, only to be kicked out of our table (which by the way was super close to the next table). I wasn't aware of the 1 1/2 hour policy and was VERY disappointed. Read the fine print on your reservation!!! The food was good, we only ordered wine..not the expensive novelty drinks. The waitress was nice...a little slow...but very friendly. The atmosphere was wonderful. My only complaint was not being able to see the one artist I had been wanting to see forever the whole night. Please be more transparent with your expectations on reservations!

We had a reservation for 4 at 8:30pm. We arrived at 8:29pm, were seated. Ordered and received drinks. At 9:38pm we were asked to leave because the reservation only keeps the table for an hour and a half to two hours. We argued just a little that we hadn't been there even for 1.5 hours yet, then just gave in and paid the bill. Must have been some confusion among the staff about times/tables, but the place isn't that big so it ain't rocket science keeping track of times.

Lights are way bright and it's really awkward for a bar of that type .you expect a darker more intimate atmosphere. People were not listening but talking through an excellent performance.the food was super mediocre..not going back
