First off the food was good but the service to our table never happened.The Asian waitress served every table except ours cause we are African Americans. The cook came from behind to bring us menus and serve our dishes. She did not want to take the time out to even bring us water nor utensils. We have eaten there for the hibachi and the sushi side when the Caucasian waitress was there and she was marvelous and an excellent server. We tip generously and when we were finished eating then the Asian lady came to discard the leftovers and to bring the check. She serviced and spoke to every single table (Caucasian and Asian people only) and not one time to us. Nor the sushi old guyHe mean mugged us the whole entire setting of our meal. I was very uncomfortable this last time and I’ll never refer this restaurant to any one of my race because don’t be surprised.Back to Peking on the Westport we go from now on.Besides their yellow sauce isnt gojos sauce. Almost. But almost ain’t good enough.Bye WasahiOr racist restaurantNo more from them.

Me & Hubby had 4 visits to this restaurant and they have very poor service skills when it comes to people of color. The waiter at the sushi bar always gives us an unwelcoming look every time we visit. The Japanese waitress is also very rude every time we come. We went today (March 12, 2024) the chef actually came up front and greeted us, he was the only one respectful, no one in the front was. The two Caucasian women seated together were treated great, as well as the Caucasian women on the other side of us. The man at the sushi bar even greeted and chatted with a family that is another race. The other tables had bigger portions of fried rice served to them…waitress brought water with limes out for others but we were served plain water. Other tables were all checked on…they received conversation and smiles but not me and my husband. We were looked over the whole time. No convo, barely received words when we asked questions, plus the waitress overpriced our meal. She charged us more than others. She gave us a menu with higher prices than the other menus. We grabbed another menu from the table the waitress sits and works at and the other menus had cheaper prices. Their behavior is unacceptable every time we come in. Even though they have good food, we will not be returning to this restaurant. The food is not worth the horrible treatment. You have to pray for people and pray harder for people like this.

Little hole in the wall. But 4 of us with meals appetizers and drinks for 125. We all had doggie bags. Everyone got shrimp even if we didn't order it. Everyone got noodles, rice veggies and the protein. Salad, soup.. never have I ever gotten my monies worth like I did at this place. Then we had a birthday and got Free cheese cake!!! First time there, and it won't be our last!!! Thank you. Our chef was fun too, tossing the shrimp in the air!

I am updating my previous 5 star review. This evening I called the restaurant to make sure their Teppan Grill was open. I called 6 times. Each time I was deliberately hung up on. When I finally got someone and told them they repeatedly hung up on me, the woman didn't care at all and admitted to hanging up on me each time. For being a loyal customer of over 20 years, not only will we not be eating there this evening anymore, but this was such a rude and disrespectful way to be treated, we won't be going back or recommending this place to anyone anymore. When customer service is this bad and unprofessional, it's not worth giving our business to.

Service here was excellent. Our server was really on top of things. She brought out training chopsticks for the kids and had a pitcher to refill rootbeers! The food was good, and the chef was very conscientious about food allergies. It's a great place for special occasions. For sushi, we highly recommend the 816 roll and Florida roll.Dietary restrictions: Aware of allergies and if you have guests from different parties sitting at the same hibachi grill, they don't cook anything someone is allergic to until the end. That was so helpful- someone at our table had a shellfish allergy and one person in our group had dairy and egg allergy so they did a great job with that!Kid-friendliness: Thoughtful servers and chefs! They make it a fun experience for the kids.

amazing service, amazing people, AMAZING FOOD, I absolutely love this place so much, i've been going for YEARS, i've never had a terrible experience. yes they are short staffed, and a little bit slower than other places, but it's so worth it. the ambiance was very relaxed and calm, and super nice and friendly. I definitely recommend!!

Fantastic food. SO MUCH FOOD. And amazing service. Treated our family like gold, gave us to go drinks and candy for my kids on the way out. We drove up from midtown because our kids wanted hibachi. We will be back!

Nothing special. It was ok. We are spoiled being near the ocean but for Kansas city hibachi/sushi it was ok. Needs some work inside, waitress was nice but I wouldn't go out of my way to head here.
