I couldn’t decide where to take my girlfriend for dinner, but when she said she wanted Steak Tartare, I knew it had to be Westport Cafe. The service was amazing, the staff was friendly, and it’s the best Steak Tartare in Kansas City!

My fiance and I went to dinner last night at Westport Cafe and this place is underrated! John was an amazing server and we ordered his suggestions which we weren’t leaning towards when we first came in. We had the Prawn toast, skewers, tartare and escargot pasta! Everything was delicious and beautiful presentation. Can’t wait to go back in the future. Great job chefs!

Recommended by a neighbor, and Westpoint Cafe did not disappoint. We were warned there was a wait. The aroma told us it would be worth it, and WC did not disappoint. All staff were great, but there is only one Aidan. Infectious upbeat energy, and a memory like a steel trap. This will be my first stop on a return trip to Kansas City.

The restaurant has a great atmosphere when you walk in, and the vibe is definitely a highlight. However, the steak lacked seasoning, which made it feel underwhelming for the price. I ordered the steak and frites—while the fries were excellent, the steak didn’t quite deliver on flavor. Service was also a bit slow and not very attentive, though it was a busy night. Overall, it’s decent, but the value for money didn’t quite match the experience.
