Good food, we got the lobster roll, lamb apps and shared scallops with truffle risotto and a chef special pork belly.

Love this place! Went twice last week. Can't believe I just found it. Make sure to get a side of the black truffle risotto and try the desserts.

Anytime I have people visiting from out of town, and they want to have a nice meal that isn't BBQ I take them here. The food, service and ambiance are always fantastic. Their menu is so different than anything around here and sitting in the dining room feels like sitting in a French restaurant. They have a rotating chef's special, a great deal on their steak frites on Tuesdays, delicious French desserts (home made profiteroles, say WHAT?! yum. And don't even get me started on their mille feuille when that is around... absolutely fabulous). The wine selection is great, they have a non alc option that seemed interesting but I decided to go with their non alc cocktail which was delicious. Cocktail menu is solid, and they even carry my favorite beer, Duvel which is such a European staple and not always easy to find in the city.

This my favorite spot in Kansas City. Every bartender is incredible and creative. My favorite bartender from here, Bronson, sells his milk punch at liquor stores all over KC. Their brunch is unbeatable. Their hamburgers are magic. Their steak and frites on Tuesday have extended my life.Incredible date spot.

Absolutely the best experience we've had in a long time. There are a lot of great restaurants in The KC area, however Westport cafe was a standout. From the moment we walked in we loved the ambience, the red curtains, beautiful bar and great music. Our server John Adams was knowledgable, friendly and had a great suggestions, we ordered based on his recommendations and loved everything. We had the cold and grilled oysters, black truffle risotto with scallops and the burgundy brisket. For dessert we had affogatos. The wine selection is phenomenal as well. We will definitely be back and will be recommending to friends. Thank you for making our anniversary extra special.

An excellent dining experience. My Poulet Galatine was exquisite in both flavor profile and presentation. John our waiter was very happy and informative describing each dish and it's preparation. Truly amazing dining experience.

Menu looked very promising. What we received was tasty, but the portion size was smaller than what we had expected. The beef brisket was about 4oz of meat with veges for $36, the amount of meat was more expensive than what we had a few months back at Hell’s Kitchen, the wine dry steak/fillet minion. For 2 people, we ordered 1 appetizer to share, 2 main dishes, 1 dessert to share and 2 drinks. The reviews said 20-50 a person, ours ended up being $65 per person. We walked in during dinner, it wasn’t busy. We were denied a table by the host because we didn’t have a reservation. I counted 9 tables empty that we could see. Was told that the bar was only available. Bar seats were very uncomfortable and really ruined the night out. We were only here for about an hour, 20 or so minutes in another couple walked in and we overheard they also didn’t have a reservation but got a table seat. At the time we finished and paid to leave, there were still 4 tables open, 5 if the other non reservation weren’t seated. The worst part of it was that every time I looked over and talked to my dearest, I could see the host eyeing us down from a distance. Only redeeming quality was that our bartender waitress was helpful, attentive, friendly and is good at what she does. We’re both glad we’ve tried the place but most likely we won’t be returning as we didn’t feel welcomed throughout our service (minus our bartender)Points for how the food and drink tastes and our bartender waitress. No points for quantity, price, host, and welcomeness. Decor was what I would expect for the plaza/Westport area, would say it’s not terrible.

This place and its vibe are off. I ordered a burger with no sauce and the waiter brought me the burger with sauce. No big deal, so I told her hoping she’d swap it out, instead she asked if she could just bring me another bun and if I was allergic to the sauce, if not can I just keep it? The sauce was on the top and bottom bun. The food was decent I’ll give it that, But the attitude from the waiters except one male was pretty disrespectful and isolating. She made it seem like it wasn’t a big deal and like why I couldn’t I just have ate it instead of letting her know it was the wrong order.

Food was good but the service was horrible. Might’ve just been our server though bc the table next to us had a different one and was well taken care of.

Great intimate vibe!- Dress attire: After 5 /cocktail- Reservation recommended- Number of food options: not bad since the cuisine of food is French American, don't expect pages of options- Flavors of food were super yummy and fresh- Portion sizes are small for the price but makes up for it somewhat in flavors- Ordered a mocktail for $8, wasn't the best, ordered a cosmo for $13, wasn't the best.- 2 entrees and 2 drinks will be close to $100 tab for the night. Nice for an intimate date night.- Get there early if going for dinner om a weekend due to possible parking search- Wouldn't recommend bringing kids.(Just be aware that location is amidst other restaurants and night clubs so I personally wouldnt be out that way super late unless you wanted to walk amongst the younger wild crowds.)

Westport Cafe has been a standout for the past couple of years during Restaurant Week, but unfortunately this year's menu just did not do it for me. This go around was 2 stars for me but my other times make up for it in my overall rating. One of the entrees stated on the site was swapped out for a veggie risotto that was really soupy and weird. The salmon with pickled broccoli tart also missed the mark for us. Service is awesome per usual, but definitely avoid the bistro tables by the door if it's 4 degrees out!

Only been here twice, but left a fantastic impression both times. Staff were both friendly and seemed happy to be there, and the desserts that we had were amazing both times. Would go back there repeatedly just for the desserts.Planning to go back for a full meal. Highly recommend the Madeleines, they're amazing.
