I went here because my girlfriend insisted it was good. I'd never heard of the place, and after reading the one other Yelp review, I didn't exactly have high hopes. We arrived on a Saturday evening and while the taco place next door (Tacos el Güero, I believe is the name) had a line of folks outside, Willie's Burritos was dead. No customers, just one middle-aged gentleman hanging out and waiting for business. This did not boost my expectations. We went inside and asked what kind of burritos were available, since the previous review said he only had barbacoa when they went. He said they had ground beef, shredded beef, steak, pork, and chicharron. We ordered two steak, one ground beef, and one pork to go. The first thing he did after taking our order was step in the area just behind the counter and thoroughly wash his hands, right where we could see him. This was definitely a good sign. As we sat in the (very small) dining area to wait for our food, we were treated to the sounds of sizzling meats, followed shortly by the delicious scents our steak, pork, and beef being seasoned and cooked. In just a few minutes, our food was brought out, wrapped in foil and placed in paper bags. He asked if we wanted sauce, which we did. Rather than using ramekins, he squirted some of the creamy green sauce into sandwich bags and twisted and tied them off (like a dimebag of sauce). Overall, it needs a little work. They appear to be in the middle of painting the walls, they only take cash, their menu board has some issues, and their seating is VERY limited. However, the place is clean; the burritos are made fresh, delicious, flavorful, and reasonably priced; and their creamy green sauce is out of this world. This is a small business that I would definitely like to see stick around! Highly recommended.
