Winstead's Steakburgers

I hadn't ordered here in years, couldn't believe how cheap it is. Back in the day, this would've been more expensive than fast food and now theyve swapped. Had a winstead's burger with cheese and a large milk shake and I'm pretty sure my bill was around $10.
The burger had A LOT of raw onion but could easily be picked off. Only thing I wasnt too pleased with is they were cramming all the guests into one long section and so all tables had people filling them. I was alone so no one to talk to, I got to listen to a girl at the table next to me go on and on about religion and it felt uncomfortable.

I love Winstead's SteakBurger's in Kansas City Missouri!! They are Awesome & not only is their food delicious, to make things even better they certainly give you a good amount of food in the orders themselves!! You Most Definitely get your $$$$'s worth!!!! I most definitely recommend this place!!!! It's delicious!!!! 😍🤩🥰🙃

First, the hours on their website and other places do not represent when they are actually open. They were closing at 10:30 on a Saturday night. Most of the staff act like they don't want to be there. The place hasn't been renovated in over 30 years and it shows. Bathrooms are dirty. It really is a shame. This used to be their flagship location. They really just need to close shop before people forget what they used to be and become known for what they are now. A shadow of their former self.

I went through the drive-thru today 9-13-25 I had to repeat my order three times got to the window my order was not correct I told them a single cheese mayonnaise and onions only they put practically a whole onion on one little single cheeseburger the meat was nasty and cold I ordered a chocolate Coke it tasted half watery the tater tots were greasy this place used to be really good the last two or three times I went to the drive-thru food has been horrible

I miss diners like this. Burgers are laced to perfection. The skyscraper shakes are mind bogglingly huge. Always a stop when I head to the plaza.

After a night at the casino, this spot saved the night. It was a bit of a wait, likely, due to it being the only place open that time of night. But everything came out hot 🔥 and fresh!

Winsteads Kansas City,MO Good food but a bit on the cold on the burger put the fries and onion rings were nice and hot. service was great. The restaurant it self is in dire in of lots of repairs broken up side walk near the entrance a Hazzard for children and elderly. The out side need to have weeds pull a good clean up and windows washed some repairs on missing and broken tiles on the building it as if the manager does not take pride in the building. Owners really need to put some effort to remodel the inside it dates back to the 1980s deco look try bring it back to the 1940s Deco be authentic it's a historical classic and need the put some pride back in the the plaza location. Food is great and it need to work on its TLC! And maybe bring back the crisp white unforms of the past to really make it a blast from the past!
