I had the shroom pizza. One on the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The service from the staff was some of the friendliest I’ve had in a long time.

Highly recommended!

Beautiful bar/cafe on the bottom floor of the Crossroads Hotel. Pool table and shuffleboard, open industrial design. Lounge tables, bar seating, and plenty of outlets to plug into. A bit pricey for what it is, but gorgeous ambiance. Wood-fired pizzas open until late night.

If you are looking for a spot to meet friends for a quiet early afternoon this is your place! It’s also your place to meet friends or your person for drinks before a night out! Plus if you wanna have a late night cocktail you can head up to the rooftop!

After multiple conversations with friends, I feel I need to leave a review. I had my birthday at Percheron and the staff was awesome, super helpful and made us feel welcome. Unfortunately, it started raining and we had to relocate downstairs to the XR bar.

The second we got to XR, we were treated as unwelcome even though the bar manager upstairs said it would not be a problem. It was a super negative vibe - from the way the server talked to my gf, to the way that the bartenders hesitated to serve us (we were literally one drink in). To say we were unattended to is an understatement.

I was with a diverse group and even I felt othered, as if I was in trouble just for being there. We were well dressed and polite even while being talked down to by the bartenders. It was obvious that other guests were not being treated this way.

TLDR: Percheron is cool and the staff are lovely, while XR is bad vibes and the staff need unconscious bias training.

This place is decent but is steadily declining. They keep taking the best stuff off the menu and weren’t very accommodating to our requests.

Came in for the avocado toast and learned it was taken off the menu (why!?) it was the best in KC man! So then I ask for toast with avocado and the plate came out with the meal with all separate ingredients. Love paying for my food and doing the work too?

Service from bar staff is great but someone needs to straighten out whoever controls the menu. Wont be coming back for a while, hopefully they get back to their roots and make it a good guest experience from all sides.

Trisha was our server - she was attentive, friendly and even gave us a history lesson on the building and hotel. We were not staying at the hotel but decided to try it out because we’d heard so many good things about the fresh made food and atmosphere. We were not disappointed We had a delicious meal and we never felt rushed. I would definitely recommend.

We were from out of town and heard that XR was a place to check out. At first we had a great experience in their inside restaurant. We started off with espresso martinis which were great and service was great. Since it was a nice day we decided to go up to their roof top area to continue our experience. There we found out there was a big difference. First, our drinks were ok and order were mixed up. Food was disappointing and expensive. Service was slow compared to their downstairs restaurant. Great views of the city and had several areas to sit. Whether it was tables or comfy sectional seating. Overall, I probably would not go back for the food. However, the atmosphere had a cool vibe with great views of Kansas City on the rooftop.

It’s always a great to come into the crossroads hotel bar! It’s a great place to get to know those in and out of state. And the staff is super friendly and inviting. Eddy the bartender at the time gave great service and attitude for my requests. Will be back again!

The atmosphere and food is AMAZING. The french toast is to die for! 10/10 recommend if you are looking for a breakfast/brunch place to eat at. Taylor, our server, is amazing and so sweet and polite! Wish we lived near here so we could come back again!

Great food with a very comfortable seating area. Great place to brunch son the weekend, or to have a cocktail and handmade pizza in the evening.

Quite possibly the slowest service I've ever experienced. Our group waited about an hour for our drinks, let alone food, while we watched our waiter pretending to do things at the bar, but realistically just killing time before his shift ends. Meanwhile people at the bar got drinks immediately. The water our waiter promised never arrived, of course. A member of a party needed to leave, so tried to go tell our waiter, but he impolitely cut her off so he could go pretend to do more things. I've never once walked out of a restaurant, but after we waited another 15 minutes with no sign of water, drinks, or food, we all left. I can't rate the food because we never got it.The lighting on the inside was sort of cool. Since we had plenty of time to look at it.

I’ve been going here for 3 or 4 years, but wow their service has been ridiculously slow recently. I went on a night where it was just my group of friends and 3 other couples in the whole XR cafe area. One of my friend, ordered a chicken sandwich and they only came back 20 minutes later to tell her they didn’t have it AFTER half of us got our food. None of the food was brought out together. It has been like this for the past year. If you have plans to be anywhere at any point after, honestly you probably won’t make it.
