delicious food and the atmosphere is clean and welcoming. The employees are very kind - when they heard us singing happy birthday to our friend they surprised us with a candle for her sushi!
It's really nice to have the opportunity to taste the dishes here. the service is good and the place is very comfortable
Crab Rangoon is amazing. Sushi is fresh and delicious. The spicy dynamite roll ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Overpriced in my opinion for the following reasons: Mostly self-serve, some dishes such as the Gyoza doesn't come with the standard dipping sauces, the ramen bowl is somewhat small for what it is and their ramen menu options are only 2 or 3 variations, also be very specific if you have any special requests for instance I ordered several side meats for my wife who eats a carnivore diet and I explained that she can't have breading and sugary things, but the meats were cooked and served in a sweet teriyaki sauce that is obviously sugary. For the two of us, the tab was $70, however I'm sure the meats as sides wasn't cost effective.
The appearance of the food was very nice, excellent even, but the taste was only ok. If you don't mind a bit of a drive I recommend Shiki in ottumwa, it's amazing

My family and I ordered dinner from here last week and it's our new favorite restaurant here in Kirksville. Super easy to order take out , just call! Food was ready in a flash and staff was friendly. We tried ramen, sushi and bento boxes full of delicious chicken and shrimp. Large portions of tasty fried rice were a huge bonus and soooo good. Crispy spring rolls were my favorite!

TLDR: Mizu is my current vote for the best restaurant in Kirksville.
MENU: Sushi, bento boxes, real-deal ramen, hibachi griddle fare, and assorted fried items. No dessert items.
FOOD QUALITY: Hit and miss, depending on whether you're dining in or getting it to go. Bento boxes are clearly popular, though I've never had one. Sushi rolls are kinda same-same. LOTS of cream cheese.
MENU FAVORITES: Fried calamari, gyoza, tuna mango tataki, philly roll, Japanese bacon roll, snow white roll. Must try the yum-yum sauce.
FRONT OF HOUSE SERVICE: Waiters don't take your order here; you pay at the counter, and they bring it out to you. If you want to save time, read their online menu in advance and order when you arrive.
KITCHEN SERVICE: My biggest criticism of Mizu is that the kitchen staff don't coordinate their timing. They have several different stations all working independently, and they don't even attempt to have food come out in a logical sequence, OR have food ready at the same time for to-go orders. On one occasion I placed a to-go order and waited while they made it... my calamari was the first thing to come out, so it sat there for twenty minutes while the sushi cooks caught up. Needless to say, my beloved calamari was soggy and disappointing. On another occasion, I dined in with some friends... we ordered an assortment of things and shared with each other. One of the items we chose was the edamame. We finished all of our food, and then waited a good ten minutes on top of that, before the edamame finally arrived. They really need to work on getting the timing to line up better.
ATMOSPHERE: Mizu has one of the coolest decors among Kirksville restaurants. It definitely has a casual, quick-service vibe, but well designed nonetheless. Well-lit and reasonably comfortable. Clean bathrooms.
Vegetarian options: They do have about three vegetarian rolls, but I wouldn't recommend Mizu for vegetarians or vegans.
Dietary restrictions: If you're gluten free, there will be a lot of items that you can eat here.
Parking: Most times I go there is a spot available right by the door. The restaurant is located in a strip mall, so there's a lot of parking available in general. The adjacent intersection of Baltimore and Potter is kind of a pain in the neck, though.
Kid-friendliness: The bento boxes would be popular with most kids.
Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible. The curb at the parking lot is low, and there's a ramped area. The walkways in the restaurant are wide.

Really impressed by this gem. Excellent food and service. Really tasty sauces. Huge variety for all tastes. The sushi part of the meal took a bit to come out, but I'm definitely okay with waiting for quality food, which was the case here.

Absolutely delicious food! We tried so many items tonight, I'm stuffed! Perfect sushi rolls, crab rangoon and the yum yum shrimp was spectacular. Miso ramen was excellent as well and the spring rolls were nice and crispy.
It is such a great place for a taste of culture from the other side of the world. I'd say they do have some competition when it comes to sushi and miso soup. The best part about waiting on your food is sipping the iced thai tea.

Me and my wife were excited to try out this location after hearing about it from friends. However, after ordering takeout and talking with the employees about my wife’s seafood allergies I got confirmation from two different employees that the rangoons would not have crab or imitation crab in them. She had taken one bite and needed to be taken to the emergency room from an allergic reaction.
I was able to get a full refund for the order, which I am thankful for them doing that for us. I would not recommend this location until they train their employees correctly, especially for important issues like allergies.
Dietary restrictions: Staff is not knowledgeable on what is inside the food. Currently I would not trust them with any allergies you or your family have

Awesome little place! Food was excellent and fresh, I’ll be back!
The “specialty” rolls have too much rice to fish ratio, specifically the Alaska roll, but both of the “classic” rolls had a perfect ratio. Flavors of both of the classic ones were very good too. Also got a bento box, the fried rice is just soy sauce rice with bits of corn, but tastes good. Chicken was cooked nicely too. Sashimi comes in big pieces and tastes very fresh.
