“Absolutely delicious food! We tried so many items tonight, I'm stuffed! Perfect sushi rolls, crab rangoon and the yum yum shrimp was spectacular. Miso ramen was excellent as well and the spring rolls were nice and crispy.”

“Maxwells is one of my favorite restaurants, but it wins for THE favorite for atmosphere. The staff and service is always wonderful, and it is one of the few places in town I can grab a veggie burger and dine in or out with my family. My husband loves the southwest burger. The whole restaurant is a vibe. Even the bathroom is great (the touch of Harry Potter and Les Miserables, my favorites, does not go unnoticed). You cannot go anywhere else around here to eat out and get the same feeling you do at Maxwells. 10/10”

“Always enjoyed this place and the concept! A great addition to downtown. It's hard to know which wine you'll like in advance, so having all the wine available for self-serving tastes in as large or small quantity as you want is awesome. And a great selection! Small bites of food are really good as well.”

“This was our first time there and our experience was fantastic. Everything was presented nicely and our food was outstanding! Our waitresses never let our drink empty and were very polite. Best salsa we've ever had. the tamales were very unique with flavors I've never had in them before and that was definately a delicious suprise! 10/10 We will definately be coming back.”

“Excellent authentic Chinese takeout takeout only but you get what you pay for plenty of food lunch meals come with egg drop soup with crunchies and crab rangoons or you can say no soup and get extra rangoons and it's the real deal they keep all the Chinese students at the college a taste of home close by

“This stop was a highlight of our July 2024 Vacation from Nashville to Iowa. I worked at this Paglia's from 1974 to 1978 and the place and the Pizza is just as awesome now as it was then.”

Every single time you eat here—it will be EXACTLY the same. And that’s VERY hard to find.

“We love staying out at the cabins at Thousand Hills! Even with the change in management this year it’s been great. I have to especially thank and compliment Taylor who works out here. He has been so nice, helpful, and all around amazing with making sure we have everything we need to make our stay a great one. “Finally decided to drive all of the way across town for a hot chocolate with whipped topping. Get to my office, no whipped topping. Figured it was a fluke. Just tried it again and stressed I wanted whipped topping. Like an idiot, I didn't check until I was at my office. Again, no whipped topping. Not going there again. I'll brave the line at Starbucks because it's closer and I get my hot chocolate the way I order it. And I clicked would not recommend, but apparently it didn't like that.”

“We called ahead to order and picked up about 15 minutes later. The order was 100% accurate and they even gave us some extra donuts. Everything tasted good.

Dietary restrictions: Gluten free menu is available and there are plenty of options. Cross contamination is usually ok for me and I’m pretty sensitive but may not be adequate for someone with celiac

Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair parking spots are a little narrow and there really should be a few more. Inside the accessibility isn’t bad. Plenty of tables as opposed to booths and staff are usually fine. Tables have a big leg in the middle that may get in the way of chairs with big footrests”

“Excellent little venue for parties or a get together for friends. They have wine from local areas. Jill, who was in charge when I was there. was very knowledgeable and helpful.. They also volunteer for events around the community. I commend the owners for being part of Kirksville!”

“An item was accidentally left out during a door dash order. It happens everywhere, not the end of the world. When I returned with the missing item, I found this note.

Some restaurants would dismiss a customer as soon as they hear 'door dash'. But nope, this team went above and beyond and touched my heart. It wasn't even about the additional items...a handwritten note is most sincere communication.

Whoever was running the evening shift on Sunday, November 3rd is a genuinely good person.

“Husband had this pizza years ago at a rural location. He completely forgot about it until seeing sign at a different location in another very rural area. I personally have never had it and I'm extremely picky when it comes to pizza. It's one of my favorite foods. Well he suggested I try it because he remembers loving it over a decade ago. So I agreed and got a simple pepperoni pizza and then drove 15 mins home. Only cost $11.99 plus tax for a 12" Pizza which is cheapest pizza I've ever purchased. I had to rewarm it which made me hesitant on the quality. I was totally wrong. THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST PIZZA I HAVE EVER EATEN. First purchase for me was yesterday and today I went out and bought 2 more. Great dough, sauce, cheese the works. I will forever be a Hunt Brothers Pizza only..”

“This was one of my favorite stops by far.The food was so good the wife got a cheese burger with bourbon bacon jam and I only got one bite of it it but boy was it good.. I got the tenderloin and it was also very good. We both got waffle fries and they were perfect...The young lady that seated us and served us was absolutely amazing she did her job very well...If you are in or around Kirksville or that area I would highly recommend looking the fort up and giving a try, it was probably the best experience we have to date...

“We go here at least three times a week. Our favorite ice cream anywhere. Ice cream is thick and tasty. The meal specials are quite good. The employees at the drive-thru window are always friendly and helpful, especially a man called Nico. Our two big dogs go with us and get a fabulous pup cup.”

“Went through drive through for bfast. Team very friendly, efficient, and order was correct. One issue with food was the hash rounds were so greasy it left grease literally all over my car and clothes.”

“This was a nice find! We were in Kirksville for the day shopping and found them to be open for lunch. The place was very clean, the staff was nice, and those sidewinder fries are indeed something I favor over anything else we have had in town!
