I visited pancake City to eat a meal with a friend of mine and we wanted something a little different than what we usually get. We also wanted to both get something different so we can share with each other and have more options. The special that day was country fried steak with green beans and mashed potatoes. I tried some of his country-fried steak and I found it to be quite unusual or different tasting. All the other food I've usually gotten from there has been tasty though. And they have great pancakes of course! I had fish and salad and hash browns. That was okay but the fish wasn't patterned it was breaded with like a cornmeal breading and I'd never heard of that kind of fish before. It was tasty though except for the breading would have been better if it wouldn't have been cornmeal. The salad was just great as usual. It had the nice little cut up cucumbers instead of the great big pieces. The staff was very nice and attentive and I didn't need for anything. The prices are reasonable and you can look to eat for about 10 bucks a person. There's also that really fun quarter game where you put all your quarters in and you push markers out until you're all out of quarters lol. My overall impression of pancake City is it's been around for a long time. They don't keep the same workers for a really long time it seems. They don't do DoorDash which sucks and their food's pretty tasty and they're a good place to go in the middle of the night if they're still open then.

their lunch special on Friday, the roast beef was excellent. potatoes were very creamy and tasty. when we go for breakfast we get the Starving Man's order and we can't finish it. food is always good. the root beer float is huge and very good. we have been going there for 10 years

Nice people working here but the food is several steps below the typical Waffle House. The interior is old and tired and the small portions are expensive comparatively. Not my first choice for breakfast.
