Just ate at The Pressroom. It was delicious. Our waitress was friendly and the staff was just as kind. Our boys approved of the grilled cheese and fries. My husband was impressed with the smash burger and received a firm handshake on the way out by management which immediately was the nail in the coffin on coming back. My chicken sandwich was very delicious and seasoned well. We will see you again! đ«¶đŒFrom Bloomfield Iowa
We loved it! Everyone was so nice and attentive. The atmosphere was incredible!!! Great service! Great music! Great drinks! You need to stop by!!
Wish I could give 0 stars â this place is a joke.
I walked in for a drink and was immediately told I wasnât allowed there anymore. No warning, no prior incident, no explanation. When I asked why, they refused to answer and claimed it was a âunanimous staff decision,â which I know for a fact isnât true.
This wasnât about policy â it was personal. Iâve confirmed elsewhere that one of the bartenders had a private issue with me and created a false narrative behind the scenes, leading to my ban without ever speaking to me directly.
Even worse, the ownership refused to explain anything â instead responding with vague legal threats and intimidation. At one point, the owner even showed up at another business she co-owns (Venezia) while I was there, seemingly trying to pressure me into removing a review.
It didnât stop there. While I was simply standing in front of Dukum, the owner called her boyfriend out of Press Room to shout profanity at me in public. This behavior is not just unprofessional â itâs hostile and alarming.
If you want to support a bar that actually respects its patrons and operates with integrity, look elsewhere.
The best onion rings, hands down! All the food was fantastic, and the service superb!
Food was delicious and came out really fast. There is some dust and some drop ceiling tiles need to be replaced but this is a great place with a good atmosphere regardless.
Cute place near campus to grab appetizers and drinks! They have really great and unique alcoholic beverages that are definitely worth a try, and their appetizers selection is great to go with their drinks! Really great service too. And not too pricey.
The food and drinks are the best in Kirksville! Great music, great vibe, and friendly staff!
Went in on a Saturday for lunch and should have known not to eat here when there was only 2 other people in the place. Waitress/bartender wasnât old enough to serve alcohol and rudely let us know!
3 burgers and onion rings took 1 hour to get and the food was cold. So the food was trash besides the onion rings and the place smells like an old ladyâs closet that someone farted in
So go somewhere else if you want good food and service!!!!!!
Incredible food. The chicken tenders, fries, and everything on the sampler platter is excellent. The food may take a little longer than some would like but itâs well worth the wait. The atmosphere makes for a nice place to spend a little extra time. Staff was really nice and helpful. Considering how great everything tastes the price point was really reasonable too. Definitely canât wait to go back to try more of the menu!
Wings were good. Service was excellent. I like the old newspaper place feel

Definitely my favorite place to go to on Saturday Nights
This place is a joke. Walked in for a shot and was immediately told I wasnât allowed there anymore. No warning, no incident, no explanation. Asked why? Refused. Instead I was told it was a âunanimous staff decisionâ, which is a blatant lie. This is almost certainly because of the bartender, Ella. I got to know her well as a regular and quickly realized sheâs two-faced and thrives on drama. Sheâd act friendly, even invite me to hang out outside the bar, while stirring up problems behind my back. After I called her out and we stopped talking, suddenly Iâm preemptively banned months later? This is small-town bar nonsense, banned over a petty personal vendetta instead of anything real. If there was an actual reason, why refuse to tell me? And if it was personal, why abuse bar policy instead of handling it directly? The owner, Stephanie, is just as bad. Not only is it a terrible business move to ban a paying regular over petty drama, but sheâs been shady the entire way through. Instead of answering my questions, she threatened legal action and later tracked me down at a restaurant she co-owns to try intimidating me into deleting my review. The people that run this place are pathetic. If you want to drink somewhere that actually respects its customers, go somewhere else.
This place is a joke. Walked in for a drink and was immediately told I was no longer allowed there. No warning, no prior incident, no explanation. When I asked why, I was told it was a âunanimous staff decisionâ â but no one would give any details. If there were legitimate reasons, why the secrecy? And if it was personal, why not handle it directly instead of abusing bar policy to quietly remove someone? This reeks of small-town drama being handled in the most unprofessional way possible. The owner, Stephanie, took it even further. After ignoring my request for an explanation, she later tracked me down at a completely unrelated business she co-owns and tried to intimidate me into deleting my review. Sheâs also made legal threats and even came outside Dukum to curse at me and call over her boyfriend. If this is how the people in charge behave â banning customers for vague personal reasons, resorting to intimidation, and escalating things instead of communicating like adults â then this isnât a place worth supporting. Go somewhere that respects its patrons.
The Press Room isn’t just a bar—it’s a place where you can get banned without reason, warning, or explanation. I was refused entry despite never causing an issue, and management wouldn’t even give a real answer when asked. It’s clear this place operates on personal favoritism rather than actual policies. If you want a bar that enforces rules based on who they like rather than professionalism, this is the place for you. Otherwise, there are far better options in town that actually respect their customers.
We rented the downstairs for a 1920s themed birthday party! It was amazing! We had great service, it was clean (it's old too, but that's what made it fun), and anything we asked for was met with courteous staff that went ABOVE and BEYOND at every point. I highly recommend. Their sidewinder fries are the best fries in the area!
