We ordered the barbecue combination plate. Well worth the money. Lots of food tastes really good. Plate consists of brisket, ribs and sausage. We got the KC barbecue sauce and they have excellent salad reminiscent of Olive garden

Sunday august 31. Went to wooden nickel. The front part was full, the waitress said it will be thirty minutes wait. The back dining area was completely empty. So we took our business on up the street to a great Italian place.. It was an awesome experience.Great food great service.

Bailey was our server and she is wonderful! Came in on a Sunday and had the special that was a 5 cheese bacon burger with a homemade bun! Outstanding! Great prices and again Bailey is outstanding!

LS Tours
The staff of LS Tours just happened to be in Kirksville and opted to have dinner at the Wooden Nickel. To be honest, if it wasn't for the extremely nice and professional waitress, I think her name was Diamond, I would have rated the dinner we had a 2 or 3 out of 5 at best. However, since the waitress was right on top of all of our questions and provided a great experience, we have to go with a 4 out of 5. The food was just not good. We have been to Kirksville and the Wooden Nickel in the past and this was never the case with the food so I'm just not sure if it was an off night or what. The jalapeno poppers we had tasted old, the fettuccini alfredo did not taste fresh either and the prime rib sandwich I had was barely edible. Again, since it has been forever since we have eaten here then maybe it was just a rough night in the kitchen. Who knows. What we do know though is give that waitress a raise because she made a diamond (excellent service) out of what otherwise would have been a lump of coal experience.

Incredible place to visit! The staff were so kind and helpful. The restaurant was cozy and clean. Service was so quick. The food options are vast and the quality of the food is nearly unmatched - while not being very pricey either. Just the cutest little place to grab a nice meal.

The service was awesome, but whoever was in the kitchen needs to find a different job. I felt sorry for the servers. Every table was sending items back. Horrible food. And if im not mistaken the owner was working the kitchen. Sad as this use to be a great place to eat.
