The food is awesome. My wife and I went for our 12th anniversary and were pleasantly surprised at how wonderful the food was. The only concern I had was with the banana nut cake. It was quite good; however, would be even better moist as it was dry. The ice cream made up for it though. The lobster was phenomenal! The potato wedges were huge and nearly a meal in themselves. The service from our server was incredible. All great things. Now the reason I gave 1-star: The restaurant charges a 2.84% CREDIT card fee (no charge for debit cards). The fee is NOT mentioned on their website, in the foyer, posted anywhere in the building, nor on the menu. However, instead, it is listed on the bill where, if you're only looking at the amount you owe, you will not see it. It also is not mentioned by the staff. This is quite deceptive. So deceptive in fact, that I brought this to the attention of the on-duty manager. I was very disappointed in the lackadaisical response from the manager; which was, "it's on the bill. We've not had any issues...etc". Upon further suggesting to the manager that it would be good customer service for the server to mention that upon payment and that no signage was provided on this fee, he provided the less-than acceptable response of "I'll bring this to the owner's attention". Which is a euphemism for "I'm just saying this to appease you".To further illustrate how easy it would be to eliminate the issue, posted on their website, and posted in the foyer of the restaurant are dress code rules. If they can post dress code rules, they can post they charge 2.84% to use a credit card. It seems very deceptive otherwise. Additionally, it's just good customer service.Parking: There are four parking locations; all but one include walking uphill after the meal.

One of our favorite places to go for a nice dinner. Great food. Service is always top notch. We love going in the summer and sitting outside.

Spectacular food! The filet was easily the best I've ever had, and our server (Alyssa) was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. Also very accommodating with food allergies for a member of our partyDietary restrictions: Very thorough on checking with specific food allergies

Our waiter, Quinn, was first rate, personable and knowledgeable. I took my parents there for an outing on Sunday, and it was beyond their expectations for a KCMO area restaurant. They like a good restaurant. Mom kept saying- this is really special, about the place and the food. My father said it was the best burger he’d had in a long time. The beautiful day and sunny lakeside view were my hope and it was even better. I miss water-view restaurants and this is lovely. We had the Marina burger x 2 with bacon- verrrry good, and the classic Eggs Benedict with sausage. Mmmwahhh.

I took my partner there to celebrate a birthday. The food was very high quality (definitely try the lobster bisque), the food is worth the price they make up for it in quality and very nice serving sizes (you will not go home hungry) large plates and a beautiful view right on the lake. We will be back.

Everything was wonderful we only had issues when it came to the reservations they became quit finicky even though the restaurant was empty and our party was getting conflicting information.

It's on the pricier side but completely worth it! Our waitress recommended the grouper (from a couple options we were stuck between) and it was phenomenal! My husband got the scallop risotto which was good, but paled in comparison. Service and atmosphere were both nice for a date night out! Will definitely be

My wife and I have eaten here many times, but this last time was subpar. Whoever decided to add aromatherapy machines throughout the restaurant is an idiot. The scent given off leeches to the wine glasses, so everything you drink has this odd floral aroma that makes you gag. As long as they keep these devices we won't be returning. We spend roughly $200-300 per visit, but as good as the place smells the trade off is drinks that smell like an aromatherapy candle. If you put your nose in a wine glass, an EMPTY wine glass, you will know what I'm talking about.Marina27, you need to fix this, we love your food, your service and the ambiance. But as long as these machines are present....we will not be.

We took advantage of a really warm spring day and went (probably by my mistake) prior to them being open and asked to sit on their patio. The gal was so kind and offered to open up the patio early for us and two small kiddos. The service was amazing and as always the food was great. So kind of them to go out of their way to let us enjoy their awesome patio!

My wife and I try and grab burgers when we can here on Mondays when they are on special. The burgers are just always fantastic and the fries are yummy too. This being said, I have also had 6 other meals here; brunch, lunch, dinner, happy hour specials-- I've tried every part of the menu. The food outside of the burgers, especially considering what you pay, leaves much to be desired. All in all, fairly average flavors and quality. Service could be touched up in terms of how long it takes to get greeted once you're seated and to bring back initial and subsequent drink orders. But, the dock is a beautiful place to have some drinks and dinner if you're looking for a lake side/scenic change in pace.

I have been coming here since this place was called grog and galley and it has really gone down hill, the service sucks ball$. it's actually kinda sad because i don't think the owners realize the potential this place has. food is equivalent to apple bees but the prices of prime social. don't waste your money!
