This was my first time ordering a professionally designed cake for my birthday. Melissa did not disappoint! I gave her inspiration designs and she did a fabulous job. The end result was spectacular. I ordered a chocolate cake with a raspberry mousse filling. It was absolutely delicious! The cake stayed moist for days and the raspberry mousse tasted like I was eating real raspberries. I would 100% recommend For the Love of Cake STL to make your next cake for any event.

Seriously amazing! The cake was the best texture I’ve ever eaten. I could have eaten a vat of the raspberry crème au beurre filling by itself. The chocolate ganache frosting and cake pop filled cliff top was smooth and surprisingly not too sweet for me, which was so awesome. So many cakes taste overly sweet to me, and this was just perfectly flavored and sweetened! Just FYI, in case you’re wondering, the gelatin part was mostly for the illusion. It is edible, but not flavored. All the adorable wildlife you can see inside of it is molded melting chocolate. So much fun! It reminded my husband of our last cruise and of when he lived in Hawaii for 2 years. It was a little soul crushing to destroy such a beautiful piece of art, but we have some amazing pics and video to go along with the sweet memories. ❤️

My husband ordered a half sheet red velvet cake for my birthday and 12 carrot cake cupcakes and both were amazing. The red velvet might have been the best cake I've ever had and we got SOO many compliments! People raved about the cake! They're still talking about it days later! We loved it!! Highly recommend!

This was my first experience ordering a cake for an event and Melissa was an absolute delight to work with! She was patient and worked with me through the design process to come up with the perfect cake. Our party actually got cancelled a few days before and she was kind enough to let me reschedule. I was so nervous about what the final design was going to look like, but it exceeded my expectations! It was gorgeous! And it was the most delicious cake I think I’ve ever had. Seriously, the best! You will not regret working with Melissa. I can not thank her enough!

Melissa is a dream to work with. Not only is the cake unbelievably delicious, it is equally gorgeous. She is very talented and blew us away with her skill and creativity. We will be ordering all of our cakes in the future with For The Love of Cake!

Update! I must say in complete honesty and to my own surprise, Melissa makes THE best cake my family has ever had. I have always researched a ton and used the best baker I could find for my family’s birthdays, and we have absolutely had delicious cakes that receive compliments from party guests, but nothing like we experienced this party. Every single adult guest asked who made the cake, where is she located, and what flavors did I choose (they could all taste the yummy almond in the cake, and they loved the frosting). All the kid guests said it was the best cake ever and couldn’t get over the pretty decorations or that everything was edible. Not a single person turned down taking cupcakes home, and the entire cake was eaten…ALL of it! Not a single bit went into my trash! No one so much as even raked any frosting off, which ALWAYS happens. To say that I am impressed with Melissa’s talents is an understatement, and all I can say is I hope she never stops baking! I am SO grateful to have found her, and if you’re reading this because you’re looking for a baker, you can stop looking now. You’re welcome! :)

This is going to be an evolving review, as I have no photos to share yet, and I have not one, but TWO occasions to review and share photos of! I just wanted to get started on this because this sweet, wonderful soul saved me from a last minute cake disaster when she absolutely didn’t have to, and could certainly have spent her day doing something else besides saving my behind!

Imagine waking on the day of a loved one’s very special milestone birthday to look at your phone and find out that the cake you ordered (and has already been picked up on your behalf) is pretty much the exact opposite of what you ordered….that was me! I frantically started searching for someone who might be willing to help me with pretty much no notice, and Melissa literally saved the day. I contacted her before 10 a.m. and she was willing to work me into her personal schedule to make sure that this very special birthday celebration did not proceed with the wrong cake (this should NEVER be expected of anyone, but I have to mention it because it speaks to her caring nature and that she truly understands the importance of special occasions going as smoothly as possible). It’s cake, I know, but…it’s THE CAKE! I am not personally equipped to redecorate a cake (or bake one for that matter, though I do bake for my husband and little one sometimes because it makes me happy to make things for them…even if what I make isn’t very attractive lol), but after one look at Melissa’s beautiful work, I started dialing her number, and I’m so glad that I did!

I can’t express enough how wonderful it was to work with Melissa! I provided a picture of what I wanted for my daughter’s wedding shower, she hit it out of the park. It was so gorgeous, I did not want to cut it! She suggested a slight change for one layer, which I loved. I selected the chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling and the french vanilla with strawberry jam. I am not a big chocolate cake person and it was the best I’ve ever tasted! Both cakes were incredibly most and delicious! Everyone asked “where did you get this cake?” I was nervous about transporting it but she packaged it beautifully and securely. She even provided the gorgeous photo below, truly showcasing her talent. Thank you, Melissa! Who knew the cake would be the talk of the shower. You are incredibly talented and your passion for your cakes and your clients truly were remarkable! I highly recommend Melissa, I assure you, you will not be disappointed. Not only was the cake delicious, I felt she truly cared about my daughter’s shower. You are a gem! Thank you, thank you!!

She was doing cakes for her family and friends but then decided to expand into a business where she shares her energy and passion. She has also further educated herself in master classes to provide the best services in her business for her clients. Taking that time to learn and grow the best she can means not only will your cake look good but ohhhhh boy, wait until you taste your first bite! (personal favorite flavors are the lemon cake and the strawberry cake!) These cakes are FAR above the cakes you can purchase at any warehouse or grocery store. Melissa created a beautiful work of art for my mother in laws 50th birthday. I gave her a small description of the concept and colors I wanted, and she delivered above and beyond. The cake was a crowd pleaser from the staff of the restaurant, to every guest that attended. Normally I expect fondant to be too sugary and thick to eat, however this fondant was delicious and light weight compared to others I’ve had. The cake itself tasted amazing. We had white chocolate mousse which was delicious. The second tier had a raspberry mouse that literally tasted like fresh raspberries, I thought I was eating a raspberry when I took a bite. All in all, this experience was ABOVE AND BEYOND what I would have expected, and I will absolutely be back for every occasion.
