Skippy's Route 66 Restaurant is a fantastic spot for anyone who loves flavorful fast food with a friendly, small-town charm. From the moment I arrived, the welcoming atmosphere made the experience enjoyable and stress-free. The restaurant is bright and clean, with a casual yet comfortable setting that immediately puts you at ease. Whether you’re stopping by during a road trip or visiting as a local, it feels like the kind of place where good food and good vibes come together naturally.
The highlight of my visit was definitely the chicken. Skippy’s chicken is exceptional—crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. The seasoning is balanced and flavorful, offering just the right amount of spice and herbs without overwhelming the natural taste of the meat. Each bite was delicious, and it was clear that the kitchen takes real care in preparation and consistency.
One of the things I appreciated most was the quick service. Despite the popularity of the restaurant, I didn’t have to wait long at all for my order. The staff was efficient and friendly, moving quickly while still taking the time to be polite and attentive. It’s rare to find a place that combines speed with quality, but Skippy’s manages both effortlessly.
Everything about the meal—from the warm welcome to the perfectly cooked chicken—left a lasting impression. Skippy's Route 66 Restaurant delivers exactly what you hope for in a fast-food stop: delicious, well-seasoned food served fast and fresh. I would happily return anytime and highly recommend it to anyone traveling along Route 66 or simply looking for a satisfying, no-fuss meal

Looking past the surplus of cats by the kitchen door, we chose to enter skippys. Can't say the decor was rustic more dingy. Sat down with silverware wrapped in a dirty throw away napkin. So opted to leave. Food could be great?

We were in town for the night visiting Meremac Caverns. Ordered dinner and could not have been more happy. Their fried chicken is fantastic. Oh and my wife said to give praise for the Philly Cheesesteak also. Thank you Skippy's !!

Waited 20 minutes without getting waited on. Another table had been in there longer without getting waited on. Only one waitress waiting on one other table. We left and went somewhere else.

Stopped by this restaurant on our way back from Onondaga Cave—great location right off I-44/Old Route 66. The ambiance was really nice and the staff were super friendly and helpful. We ordered a lot of food—my friends loved the chicken livers and wings. I’m vegetarian, so I had a cheese pizza with toppings, which was delicious. We also had fun playing games and trying the duck vending machine—it always gives a prize, which I loved! Overall, a great place. Will definitely visit again next time we’re in the area!

Stopped for dinner after spending the day at Onondaga, and it was a great meal! Tried the ravioli for a starter, had the specials with fresh, hot coffee, and rounded it out with a piece of cheesecake!

The restaurant was full of friendly people! We’re Asian travelers visiting the nearby cave and Meramec River. One of the cave staff recommended this place, and we’re so glad they did. The pizza, chicken strips, and BBQ were especially delicious.
We’ll definitely come back! The food was amazing, and the whole experience left us feeling great.
