Yesterday, (2/8/26) around 11:30 am I had the #23, the creamy chicken verde, and I suffered food poisoning from the dish. Extremely awful as I almost ended up in the hospital. I understand that foodborne illness is a risk associated with running a restaurant, and I had been there dozens of times before yesterday and never had a problem, but I will not be eating there ever again. I hope this review reaches a manager or even the owner so the state of the fridge, freezer, and food prep areas can be checked and are up to spec. This is unacceptable and should not be something that I or anyone else would need to experience.
The waitress did her job well, and the atmosphere was clean, but I will not risk eating there again.

The service was good. Staff was friendly. But the food tasted like white people tried to make Mexican food. If you are looking for authentic .. this isn't it.

Surprisingly it was not busy at all... typically lunch is very loud when it is packed but I really enjoyed it this trip... two people could have a normal conversation without yelling. Looking forward to a return trip with my wife..

Just sat down, a family of 7, and NO service for over 15 minutes. No drinks, no acknowledgement, just chips on a table before we were seated. Asked to PAY for the chips and salsa and left. If I could give NEGATIVE stars I would. 🙄

The prices are way too high for what you get and you are nickled and dimed for everything. You'll spend 15 minutes or more on hold to place a to-go order. I want to like this place - but it's just not worth the $$.

They had at least 5 drink specials on the board, but don’t go for the food. The salsa tastes like plain tomato sauce from a can. The “nachos” were a tostada with bean paste, plain boiled chicken, and cheese melted on top. Even the toddler wouldn’t eat the quesadilla.

Had a not so great experience, employees more invested in their phones than actually working. Service was subpar, food wasn’t hot (seemed like it was sitting in the expo area too long), bartender only seemed interested in one couple and ignoring all other guests or tickets coming through. We were only checked on when we were sat and about 10 minutes after our food came out. Just disappointing.

Tried the shrimp fajita quesadilla...it was not good. No seasoning at all and cold. Very disappointing. Thought I would try something different than what I usually get which is the chicken Verde. Always delicious

HABENEROS RESTAURANT LEE SUMMIT November 4th, Tuesday was my 39th birthday. I have alpha gal so we don't go out too much. My husband found Habeneros. He calls them. Makes reservations. With a manager. Calls back later that morning, Tuesday and adds 2 people and clarifies our time and head count. He never looked at what time they closed. We made reservations. For 16 people. You would think this would be the time they would say hey we close at 9 so maybe we should do 7 not 8? Or we can't accommodate that many people that late? Come Tuesday night our reservations are 8pm . Which is also his lunch from work. We all show up. On time. Don't get food till after 830. About 845 rolls around and the other employees are slamming things around and making comments that we are there at close. I mean SLAMMING things around. We were so uncomfortable that I got online and looked at close time and that's when we realized it was 9. So we asked for boxes for the rest of our food to leave as the energy was absolutely terrible and we had been made so uncomfortable. Once our plates were taken back and we were standing at the hostess area trying to pay at this point...we could verbally hear the people in the kitchen cussing at us. Slamming things. This is effing bullsh&&* being yelled. We made reservations. For 16 people. At 8 pm. With a manager of 18 years at this establishment. I can't understand where this went wrong. If your team dosent serve large parties that late why would you take our reservation? The manager did say she would call me back after she reviewed tapes on Wednesday when I called. My sister also called and was told tapes were reviewed and she was ashamed. I never got called back. No offer to comp our bill. Nothing. Half of us walked out without eating. I hadn't spoke to may family Wednesday morning until after I called. After I talked to the manager I found out from 4 family members that they were also sick. All ate cheese dip. Now I concerned if they did something to our food? And if they hadn't been acting how they were, I never would have even crossed paths with that thought. So now I'm really concerned. Were you guys so mad you messed with our food?? Because judging by actions I think you did. If you are childish enough to act like that, I wouldn't put it as outlandish. If you are the blonde woman who was huffing and throwing things I hope you are dang ashamed of yourself for acting like that! You are PLENTY old enough to know better. But I'm guessing the management never taking the time to call back is why staff is allowed to act that way. If you were the male in the kitchen cussing....same to you. Absolutely disgusting. No one in our party will ever return here or say a good word about this establishment. I can't believe how we were treated for bringing money to your establishment. Are you not at a job?! To work?! If you don't want to be a server and serve people , get a new job maybe. Maybe customer service job isn't for you? Absolutely disgusting. You should be ASHAMED. Please defend yourself. Explain to me what went wrong.
