The Downtown Deli and FLAVOR Spice Shop & Specialty Food Market

This is for my friend who was their earlier today and did not feel comfortable enough to state his name or post for himself. He was asked or more so interrogated first in spanish and then clear english (with no accent) by four workers in this building including the man behind the counter about where he was from. It felt very much like a trap/setup because he happens to be a latino who is a citizen and to be questioned about his origin when he was simply there to pick up a quick item from the store. The atmosphere felt off this afternoon around 11:45 and was not the normal atmosphere of this location.

Oils, spices, and flavors make this world go round just a little bit better. When you run out, this is one of the places I like to get from. I am an absolute fiend for some good balsamic vinegar or dipping oils. I can definitely attest to this place having some of the best fruit and savory infused products to dip your bread in or cover your Focaccia with. Spices, on the other hand, are very well done here. From single spices to great blends and salts, you can find just about anything you need. Unfortunately, they did have to go online only, but if you really want to support a local business with some amazing products, then this is the place for you

Ate there last week for the first time. I will absolutely be a return customer! My sandwich was so good and fresh, and the employees were very nice. I honestly can’t stop thinking about the lemon cookie I spotted, but managed to resist…I’ll be back!

AMAZING! Highly recommend the Italian sandwich. Have to get the oatmeal cream pie as well. Happy to have this here in downtown LS!

Lots of fresh options, creative flavors of food on the healthy side. There is even a great selection of spices in their cute shop.

This is by far the best sandwich I’ve had in LS! I’m from LS but don’t live there so whenever I’m home, I make sure to stop by to get a sandwich as well as some of the best and fresh ingredients to make some delicious pasta.

Good food and wonderful staff. So glad we have then in DT Lees Summit.
