Showed up to a private event (don’t mind that part). Told us the event ends in 15 minutes. Waited the 15 minutes outside and went back to the hostess to hear “oh, we have no tables for tonight, must have been a misunderstanding”. When I mentioned that no one was in the parking lot and they had many open tables she said “yep, those are reserved”. Very frustrating and unfortunate.
I really like this place. Usually we come in and have a few beers along with chips and salsa. This day we were enjoying the fall weather and decided to try the House Margaritas ( mistake).
They were watered down and had no taste. Our server didn’t write down anything we ordered and when it came time to pay she was asking us what we had and doing a little process of elimination in her calculations.

Love this place, it’s a regular spot for me and my friends. We love to sit at the bar and visit with the manager/ bartender Jenna! I recently got to chat with the owner of this establishment too (Brooke) and had a great conversation. Definitely recommend this spot for family or friends and the food never misses. Or the drinks! ?

Vegetarian options: The Hippie tacos were vegetarian and DELICIOUS! The environment is so fun. Non pretentious bar environment with all the fun quirky mexican decor you'd want from an upbeat spot! Lots of outdoor space, and different seating options. Will definitely be back.

BLUF: waited 20 minutes never ordered, felt like an uninvited guest
The vibe when you pull up is cool, and that’s about where it ends. Some kids on the back porch were throwing rocks off the porch when we walked up. The parents were right there and didn’t say anything to the kids as we dodged rocks. And that seemed to be the theme there.
Stood at the host station for 5 minutes while wait staff passed us by and no one said a word. Finally the hostess a blonde female acted like we had woke her up early and sat us almost exactly where we were standing.
We then looked at the menu as waitress after waitress passed us by never saying anything. No chips, no drinks but all the workers seemed angry or annoyed. 15 minutes in one waitress said she would be back with us. We waited another 5 minutes then left.
That place and the menu looked awesome. Either they need to work on management or their hiring practices. Seemed like all the workers were forced to get a job by their parents and didn’t want to be there. Place was not busy

We were very excited to try this place - heard a lot about it on a KC Eats and Forum page on Facebook. We tried it this evening and were VERY disappointed. My fiance and I found a small curly beard hair in our chips to begin; it looked like a beard hair and we hoped it wasn’t a pubic hair, lol. We told the waitress (very sweet whose name started with an E), and she brought us out new chips and salsa. Once our food arrived we were excited. The carna asada street corn tacos were okay - the steak was rubbery. As we continued, I then found a small hair in the rice. We told our waitress and just asked for a discount on the meal; she was very apologetic and went to speak with the manager - she came back and said her manager said we could have a discounted meal. At the end, we were discounted $6.80 on our entire meal (our meal was originally $50.00 approx) and were also given a $15 gift card to tipsy taco. A bit weird we never talked to the manager and the manager never thought to come speak to us directly. We paid and left the gift card on the table. We are major “foodies” and were excited to try this place out and were VERY disappointed. Seems like some discussions need to be had in this establishment.

Food decent but expensive for what it is. They charge a service fee if you use a credit card. Turned me off for price of food. Salsa was good ?

This place is quite literally the best restaurant in the entire world. I have never eaten such incredible Mexican cuisine this side of the border. The marg towers were absolutely unreal! But above all else - the SERVICE! We were beyond impressed and it’s going to be a staple every lake weekend.
