Came here after reading the reviews. Coffee was long past burnt. It wasn't drinkable even for this veteran who has had plenty of bad coffee. The homemade biscuit was likely good at one time but hard as a rock today. The loaded mashers were decent. They would be better with seasoning and cooking the peppers before tossing into the mix. The staff was very nice. I doubt I would return. Plenty of places to have breakfast without struggling on the basics.

The vibe is eclectic. The owner is so friendly, walking table to table. There is this great graffiti wall that is awesome. AND...the food was phenomenal!!

Came to KC for an event and was looking for a country breakfast spot. The mixing bowl was a great choice! I had the corn beef hash and it was delicious! The pancakes are fluffy and light with great flavor. The owners waited on us and were welcoming and had an obvious pride and passion for their business. This will be our KC breakfast spot from now on!

I absolutely love this place that I go every weekend to spoil myself. The burrito is phenomenal. Biscuits and gravy are to die for. And the cinnamon roll is a add on treat! And let's not forget to top it off with the best, friendly, personal service! I give them !!!!!!!

We were meeting an old friend for breakfast and he suggested the Mixing Bowl--so glad he did. The staff are all friendly in this comfortable old joint. We were served coffee as soon as we sat down and then we were presented with delicious, warm cinnamon rolls--a special treat for first-timers. Our food was hot, fresh and tasty. Mary loved her corned beef hash and my breakfast burrito was the best in recent memory. I thought the coffee was excellent, Mary was not a big fan, but hey, this is my review--five stars!

I have been brining my team from work here regularly over the past year or so. We have become good friends with the owner. We really enjoy the food and atmosphere. It is nice to have such a great relationship with the owner who genuinely cares for their patrons. Definitely a great place to grab a bite. We love the breakfast options and are always full when we leave. I encourage you to head on in and try it for yourself and get to know the great staff!

This is a wonderfully quaint and eclectic spot. This is a gem of a place which serves hot and delicious food. My breakfast burrito (with my side of gravy--yum) was SO good. The service was perfect and welcoming. My friend and I capped our breakfast off with a cinnamon role---also wonderful. I'm going to spread the word on this place!

The.food.and service are good, but the biscuit and gravy are the most expensive in the city. The other menu items are reasonably priced.

This place is amazing!! Really cute decor!! Our waitress was so sweet and attentive and HAPPY!! Our food, which consisted of eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy and pancakes, was outstanding!! But I think the best thing was the heart. A lady came in and whispered to our waitress (I could almost hear all of it) that she was hungry but only had a couple of dollars.. I quietly offered to pay, but she said thank you, but we aren’t going to charge her. It was sweet. A great place that I would highly recommend!!

We had a very pleasant breakfast in this very casual restaurant near the train tracks on Southwest Boulevard. The walls are covered in lots of quirky and irreverent (but funny) signs and the wait staff was a nice as could be. Breakfast items were fairly typical items, and specialty seems to be their various hash browns covered in lots of toppings like chorizo or corned beef. Food was served promptly and hot. Coffee was very good. Pricing is typical for mid-range breakfast place--$11-13 for most of the entrees. We got a free cinnamon roll for being first time guests. It was fresh and tasty, but probably not the first thing I would recommend from this restaurant, being somewhat light on the cinnamon flavor and having a real abundance of icing. I think that the savory entrees looked and tasted better. Enjoyed the experience and would definitely like to return to try some of the other hashes.

Wow!! Where has this place been all my life!?! I can't say enough about this hidden gem from the funkiest decor, AMAZING SERVICE and the BEST BREAKFAST you'll find around! This honey hole is located on SW BLVD which is in the heart of my hood! I ordered the Veggie Hashers with a side of flap jacks and as if I wasn't stuffed enough, I noticed a darling little pastry case full of HOMEMADE CINNAMON ROLLS!! I couldn't resist!! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!! They have a wide variety of lunch yummies as well!! The owner's are father and daughter and some of the coolest humans I have ever met!! If you haven't checked this place out do it NOW! The are open Tuesday through Sunday 7 am to 2 pm!! Thank you, Stephanie for making my dining experience one to remember!! I will be back...maybe every day!!!

I use to love coming here but this restaurant has fallen off in the last year. The service was the worst I've ever had. The waitress literally forgot half the order never once came around to ask for refills and we had to remind her multiple time about something we had asked for. The place was not busy either so being short handed wasn't an excuse. They forgot my order when they brought out everyone elses so they rushed to make mine a quick as possible. As a result nothing on my plate was good I took one bite of everything and couldn't eat anymore. The scrambled eggs were runny and wet, the hash browns were burnt on the outside and mush in the middle and the country friend steak tasted and smelled disgusting. Sadly we won't be coming here ever again.

Came in due to the reviews and it was pretty close to an appointment I already had. I took a good look at the pastries on the way to my table, great staff, and quite a location. I ordered Loaded Hashers (chorizo) & a cinnamon roll with chocolate chip cookies to go. My wife had the veggie has her while my son had French toast. My loaded hash was bland, I added mild salsa to help it out but it was not that much of a help. The cinnamon roll was 3/5 a lot of it due to the size ( small) The chocolate chip cookies were good 4/5 better than most to be honest. Would I go back....for the cookies yes absolutely.
