On an adventure to find good authentic Mexican restaurants within the surrounding areas of STL.
Today's trip leads us to El Jarocho, definitely a place we'll be back to more often as the food was fabulous.
Are you looking for a place for delightful authentic street tacos, Mexican Coca-Cola and a small grocery store with snacks, definitely recommend El Jarocho. The restaurant/store was clean, had a variety of chips, candy, sweets and beverages. While you're there, have some delicious street tacos. One of the best we've found so far.

El Jarocho has the best birria tacos I’ve had in STL so far! The meat is tender, flavorful, and the consommé is rich and delicious. If you’re craving birria, this is the spot!

The most authentic Mexican food I have had in Missouri. I felt Mayan paving under my feet and thought I could hear grinder organs of the zocalo as I tasted the incredible food here. Fresh perfectly grilled meat with wonderful sauces. I cannot wait to go back.

We adore this place. Super friendly staff, nice clean location, and the food is incredible. Actual authentic Mexican, the Quesabirria is a favorite of ours, but their daily specials are also amazing. The aquas frescas are fantastic. Please, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to some amazing food!
