“We were out on a Monday morning produce run for our restaurant and wanted a quick brunch. Service was fast, friendly, and delicious. Parking can be odd but it’s worth the Tetris.“

“Great food and fast, kind and friendly service define this nostalgic gem in downtown St. Louis! The original home of the Slinger, a local favorite, that you have to experience, as once you do, you’ll understand why and be back for more. The quality of the food is only topped by the great service you receive from the three sisters who work harmoniously together, with just a little “attitude” to make it fun. It’s easy to understand this place has been in operation for 120 years, since 1904. Be sure to visit next time you’re downtown or stop in early before a day game during baseball season, as they are only open for breakfast and lunch.“

“Off South Broadway, in the Patch neighborhood in far south St. Louis city, you'll find this diner. East of Broadway has been a mix of mostly industrial and some residential properties for many years. Riverside Diner is on the corner. We went in early and saw lots of people, yet a few open booths. We got one and saw people at the bar watching Cheers. It was an appropriate opening, because there were lots of people coming in and out, and yes, they did know their names. We ordered the 2x2x2x2 special with French toast (usually comes with pancakes) and a South Side slinger. While I was remiss and did not get a full photo of my husband's 2x2x2x2, I did get one of my slinger and taste his French toast. Everything was well prepared and my slinger with sourdough toast was a stellar representation of this classic dish. Would highly recommend them.“

“I’m only in the area for work for a few days. I went there once and the food was phenomenal and the staff is super friendly! Showed up the next morning around the same time and they remembered my order! That shows dedication to their craft. Will be going back her for breakfast in the future the next time I’m in the area. 10/10 across the board“

“We had a wonderful breakfast here. It is a down home classic diner. You have to be a bit patient as one person can only do so much at once. But it was very delicious and cozy. I never had a Slinger Plate but I would suggest adding onions and shredded cheese. The French Toast is kind of small so if you usually get two and IHOP then you should order three here.“

“The home of frosted mug root beer, I still don’t know why a man at Carls always tastes better ? worth stopping in, pulling up and grabbing a burger and mug any day you are in the area, Carls is a St Louis institution that everyone should visit at least once and get a sense of an old Route 66 burger stand. Pro tip: cash only!“

“A real American diner, great atmosphere, you eat at the counter next to other customers with whom you can chat while sipping your coffee.I only came there for breakfast but the omelettes are very good, the egg sandwich too, and the coffee is okay for what it is.Great value for money and it's really cheap. To top it all off, the boss is very nice.“
