“Spent a couple hours there while our kids were at a concert at the United center on a Monday night. Greg the bartender was great. We told him right away we would be there for a while and he wasn't trying to rush us while there. Walked in and they had blues music playing and we sat by the fire all night. Ordered the fried pickles for an appetizer and they were great. My wife had the chopped salad and I had the fried chicken sandwich. Both had great flavor and the portions were huge. Will definitely go back at some point to try some of the other options.“
“Visited in early March, 2023 and 2024 on way through. On Main Street near the river. No waiting for lunch. Two old store fronts made into one place, bar on one side. Simple food, burgers catfish, shrimp po' boy, etc. by necessity. Place is hopping in tourist season and no way a fancy menu could be served to the crowds. Talked to the owner. Showed me the whiskey bar they are building in the back room. Large patio with music on the weekends in tourist season.“
“I just got a cheeseburger and fries because that's what everyone recommends for your first time. The cheeseburger was cooked perfectly however, it was medium sized patty or even considered small. The rest of the toppings were fresh. The fries were piping hot and refreshingly not salted beyond recognition but you have the option to salt to your liking at the table.“
“Great "hometown bar" away from home. Group of us found this bar while we were doing an event nearby and it didn't disappoint. Great bar food, Dj/karaoke, and atmosphere. We actually spoke about Tubbys on way home (2.5-3hrs away) and we will be making a trip back up to New London. Thanks for a good time Tubbys, wish we could've stayed longer“
