Amazing BBQ joint in NKC. The atmosphere is perfectly BBQ, wooden tables, BBQ theme decor, and almost a picnic feel. The tables are set with their 3 sauces (regular, spicy, and their take on a Carolina style), plus smoked ketchup. We tried the two meat platter: sliced sausage, burnt ends, Buffalo slaw, burnt end chili, plus Texas toast; and the brisket sandwich, which is my go to on a first visit. Everything was amazing! The brisket was sliced thin, not too thin, and not fatty at all. The burnt end chili was so full of flavor, and the slaw/beans were great. Hawg Jaw is definitely going in our rotation.

The service is 6 or 7 stars out of 5, just wonderfully kind and easy people. You walk in and feel like you’ve been there forever. The spud deluxe with burnt ends is a great BBQ lunch, and their sauce is among KC’s best.

Came to Kansas City with a basketball team and staff of 22 people. Worked with Andy in catering, he was great to work with. Food was great, ZERO complaints from the team. Highly recommend. Incredibly organized with our order upon delivery, delivered on time, great communication. All the meat was so GOOD, we really liked the cheesy corn and BBQ beans. Again, Andy was great to work with. Must have spot in KC

I stopped at this place on my way to the airport. I had tried burnt ends a couple times during my week stay in Kansas City, but the burnt ends here blew my mind. Soft and juicy like butter!!! Next time I come back to Kansas City I’m driving straight here

As an outsider from Colorado, I was kidnapped and brought to this unexpectedly delicious best kept secret place. Fat and happy and flying home with brisket and corned beef and sauce to die for. Clean and friendly. Thank you!

I was rather disappointed in the quality of food and service. Ordered a burnt ends platter with potato salad and baked beans and also a side of fried pickles. The potato salad was very grocery store flavor and burnt ends were dry/overcooked. Didn't get the buns that were supposed to come with the platter, and had to get up to get the ranch dressing that was supposed to come with the pickles.

We were the only customers in at the time, so can't blame the mediocrity on being busy.

Pickles and beans were good.

Burnt ends and ribs were excellent. Brisket and sausage was so-so. Cool atmosphere and the kid at the register was very helpful.

It was a very quiet Monday night when we came in. Atmosphere is super cool and food was great. But honestly I was MOST impressed by the 2 young men running the registers. They were so respectful to everyone that walked through the door, calling men “sir” (only men came in to order while we were there). They spoke confidently with everyone and displayed that whoever runs Hawg Jaw has taught and displayed for them what excellent customer service should look like- which is so rare to see in the younger generations these days. Yes, I sound like an old lady, but as a mom of 5 kids, I was really impressed and felt a sense of mom pride for the 2 young men behind the counter.
