I didn't get a chance to eat here. I went down to grab some food while waiting on my S/O in surgery, and it was packed and a bit chaotic. There were just tons of people, only a couple available tables and they were dirty and there was this terrible foul odor (which could have been outside sewers, I'm not saying it was the café) but it was just enough happening all at once that I just skipped getting anything and back up stairs.

Visiting a friend at North Kansas City Hospital around lunchtime and she mentioned that she'd been here before and that she was surprised how good this little café on the hospital premises is. She raved about their chicken salad, and since I love me some chicken salad I had to check it out. It was indeed really delicious- lots of moist white meat chunks with a lovely dill sauce, not too much mayo- I hate when salads overdo the mayo- plus a great crunch from celery and big, plump, juicy red grapes. So tasty!! The atmosphere is nothing special- it is housed in a hospital after all, but it was quick and fast and that chicken salad was divine.

Great place to grab a bite to eat when at North Kansas City hospital. They make to order sandwiches and paninis, have a good desert selection as well.

Season's Cafe is a full deli and bakery restaurant, inside North Kansas City Hospital. They also offer take out, and catering. Sure, they are inside a hospital, and tiny, but the food matches or even outweighs that of Panera's or restaurants of equal offerings. The muffins, I can tell you, not only have chocolate chips inside them, but have chocolate drizzled on the top. The blueberry muffins have a sugar topping, sprinkled equally and the blueberries inside are real. The muffins are huge by the way, not dainty in any fashion. Today, they offered iced blueberry scones. Cookies!! Yum. They are so soft they melt in your mouth. They are $1.85 and are worth every penny of it. The macadamia nut/white chocolate chip is one of my favorites in the 4 state area. The oatmeal cookies have large raisins in it, and the perfect amount of spice. The salad bar, which I pass on is large. Very fresh food. They also make salads and the freshest fruit plates in the take out area. They offer wraps are of different varieties. Some are vegetarian, some are chicken. They are wrapped with a sun dried tomato soft wrap, quite similar to Ingredient's, but personally, I'd rather eat them at Season's Cafe. The drink selections in bottles are like walking through a mini health food deli. They also have the general sodas. They serve Starbucks coffee, and flavored and regular tea. For warm food, the paninis are gargantuan, and so so good. I've had them make vegetarian paninis, and they are so large, I had a second meal. This little restaurant takes care of North Kansas City Hospital, all the doctor's buildings, and the community. There is another restaurant inside North Kansas City Hospital, that I've not had the chance to sample. So, if you're in the area, you can park for free at the hospital, and try this little deli. I travel to alot of facilities both in the 4 state area, and the United States. Quite possibly, this is the best restaurant in any hospital anywhere.
