OMG. We just had one of the best burgers EVER. 🍔🔥😍 Tay’s Burger Shack in North Kansas City — how have we lived here 12 years and never tried this place?!? Grass-fed beef smash burgers. Perfectly seasoned hand-cut fries. And don’t even get me started on the Sriracha ketchup. 🔥 It’s a tiny spot with awesome retro vibes, but the flavor? HUGE. 👏 Burgers come out fast, even during a packed lunch rush. Absolutely worth it. We’re already planning our next trip back. Pro tip: Go hungry. And get the fries. This was my second order I picked up today and both orders were wrong. The second time I was fed up and went back to complain and to have my order remade. This was my first time eating here and these two instances will make it my last.

Best burger place in KC without a doubt. Amazing gluten free accommodations also. 10/10 recommend.

Small interior and there can be a line depending on the day and time. Neither are deal breakers especially if you enjoy a delicious burger 🍔

Double was almost too much! Excellent food, excellent service and the employees came around to help clean up. Interesting location with a small parking lot but BIG flavor.

Classic diner feel! With extremely fresh grass-fed beef! The fries had a great seasoning on them, & the staff was awesome! It's definitely a must visit!

When you walk in.
The place smells like greasy potatoes, that's exactly what ya get, soggy undercooked excuse for fries. The burger had no flavor, all you could taste was the tomato.

Out of this world burgers and their hand cut fries are seasoned perfectly. Everything was delicious. I recommend their orange soda too.

Tay’s - what’s going on??? These were our favorite burgers in town for years. I wish I knew what’s happening. For starters, don’t spend the extra money for a Gluten Free bun. They are so dry they crumble. You are better off getting no bun at all. Next the last 2-3 times we have been they have gotten our burgers wrong. It’s always the same older woman taking our order. I can understand messing it up now and then - but every time. It’s not that confusing. Double burger with pickles and onions only. And extra pickles/onions. That’s it. Lettuce and tomatoes are on the burgers - every time. Today, we watched everyone’s burgers be wrong. The father at the table next to us spent five minutes scraping wrong ingredients off his family’s burgers - over the trash bin. The order lady brought us our incorrect burgers after the bell signaling they were ready had been rung no less than 5 times. She asked us what was wrong - but had no reaction when we told her they were made incorrectly. Now, the kicker we could not even taste our burgers/fries for the insane amounts of salt on our food today. This has never been an issue - but I am so grateful we aren’t on a low sodium diet ! Some salt, sure! This was like salt lick. I know everyone has a bad day - but this was too much!! Please, please, please bring the Tay’s we know and love back! Today was a train wreck.

Every time I go to KC I have to stop at Tay's Burger Shack for a burger and fries. Awesome food and awesome service!!!

Best burgers in KC. The meat is grass fed & finished and it tastes amazing. locally owned and truly is worth the wait .
