I've lived in North Kansas City going on five years and I'm very pleased that my local bike shop happens to be such a great one! I've purchased two new bikes through Velo and had their help creatively rebuilding a third vintage bike. This boutique shop has helped me maintain, customize, and revitalize my small bicycle fleet, all while educating me on best practices and tips for home maintenance. They have a DIY repair station that has come in handy for me on a few occasions when I just needed to complete a small task, but did not own the tools necessary to do it myself. I really enjoy steel framed gravel bikes and they have a lot of knowledge about those specifically. The cycling club associated with Velo does a lot of gravel-centric cycling throughout the year.
In addition to the shop, the tap house next door hosts weekly group rides. Since joining the rides I have made so many new friends that, too, share a love of bicycles! Velo fosters a diverse community of cyclists, provides one-on-one assistance with new purchases, and repairs, serves up great beer and pizza, and are a bunch of all-around great folks!! I'm very grateful to have stumbled upon this place!! If you are in the area, or just passing through, I recommend popping in for a pint or a Thursday night group ride!
Terrible service. I took my bike in for service, communicated that it was my first attempt at putting a bike together, and I wanted them to check my work. Owners tells me it is ship shape when I pick it up. Pedal falls off on my way home. I walk it back, guy chargers me to fix it. On my second ride home, handlebars come loose. Dude literally didn't check anything and told me it was all good. Zero regard for client safety.
Amazing shop! Ive bought 3 bikes now from Velo Garage (and probably soon more). Kiley and crew are the most genuine people to buy from and support. Good vibes, knowledge and experiences to go around!
Nice pit stop to grab a brew and/or repair your bike. Lots of beers on tap. Group rides on Thursday night. Support your local bike shop!
Great shop. The guys I've talked to are super knowledgeable and will bend over backwards to help find parts to make bikes fit right.
Definitely the best place in the Northland for questions about bikepacking or altbiking.
These people are ridiculous. They congregate on the blocking the sidewalk and street and harass and try to intimidate anyone waiting at the bus stop or driving by on the street.
Fantastic shop with fantastic service!!
I don’t live in KC, but was recommended this shop for bikepacking/touring set up’s or knowledgeability.
I brought my bike to Zeke before Thanksgiving with a grand plan to completely change my handlebars, shifters and brakes the week of Thanksgiving. Zeke knew exactly what to order, and was very very communicative while I waited to see if the parts would be shipped on time. Despite a huge delay with UPS, Zeke was able to quickly finish up my bike when the parts came in, just in time for me to test ride it before I left town! I’m super grateful to him for his great, speedy work. Would highly recommend this shop!
Ownership prices high and will destroy your bike if you risk servicing here. Do NOT risk it!
Excellent
Singer Song Writer tonight and these guys played through the lights going off. Got to love tenacity. Well done boys. Well done!

Personable, friendly, and professional! This is the place to go get your new bike or get the old one fixed like mine! Thank you
Professional, reasonable and they even picked up my bike to go for repair. I would highly recommend this bike store. I am extremely happy and will go to Velo for anything I might need in the future. Great customer service. I highly recommend.
The guys were very helpful and informative. I came in with a cheap bike I had that didn't fit me well, was able to get a good bike that fit me, and my budget. I would definitely recommend.
