“The food was delicious. My wife had the 6th street fajita taco, and she said it was the best she had ever had. I ordered the Carmen Burrito without the cheese to keep it vegan. The grilled sweet potatoes with their rice and black beans were spiced so perfectly. It also had other veggies. I asked to see if they sold their spice, but unfortunately, not. The chips and salsas are not the standard salsa. It is also delicious. All staff was very friendly, and our waitress, Emily, was very personable, engaging in good conversation. We also had a margarita and Paloma. The margarita was delicious, and my wife loved her Paloma. I'm not sure when we'll be back in St Louis, but when we do, we will definitely come back. It's within 3 miles of the Missouri Botanical Gardens. Enjoy the gardens, then relax here. We highly encourage everyone to visit this restaurant.Vegetarian options: The Carmen Burrito is vegetarian, and can be vegan by eliminating the cheese. There are other options.“

“I really like this place I come by at least once a week. Not real cheap but what is anymore? Really good tacos and burritos. The burritos are huge they must weigh close to 2 pounds. Just one with some chips could feed two small adults and is plenty for one Big Bubba. All the staff there are real nice.“

“I met up with a buddy here for lunch. It was really good! Nice authentic Mexican food, not Tex-Mex Taco Bell style. I got the chicken chimichanga meal, and it was excellent! The complimentary chips and salsa were good as well. I'd definitely give this place a try again in the future!“

“Such a clever set up for a restaurant! You can order right from your seat online or you can see the counter inside. The food is fast and delicious, and also consistently good unlike some restaurants. We will definitely be back for dinner and drinks.“

“Absolutely love the staff, food and margaritas! This is our regular spot on a Friday night to have a pitcher of margaritas. The staff is always so nice and helpful and why we keep coming back. They are always so accomodating as well. It's anfun atmosphere and we will keep coming back!“

“Went here with some friends recently as a buddy of mine who lived in Cali for a few years said this place has some of the most authentic true Mexican cuisine in St. Louis. The Birria Tacos are absolutely incredible. Rich, flavorful, and you can tell the chefs here know what they're doing. Bit pricier than your "cheap eats" Mexican most Midwesterners are accustomed to, but it's really good. Worth noting, the chips here are not complimentary outside happy hour. So don't go here expecting "El Maguey" or your other typical copy & paste Mexican restaurants, this is not like those places.“

“Strip Mall Location. Upscale Mexican Food. This place is incredible. The food was delicious, the service was fantastic, and the atmosphere was solid. We had guacamole, lots of different tacos (brisket, Al, Pastore, gringo, supreme, pork belly, etc) and cheese quesadilla. The guacamole was excellent… Nice ratio of lime, avocados, tomatoes, onion. Chips were really tasty and fresh. The salsa was really tasty that might have had kind of a barbecue flavor to it. Not standard tomato flavor. All the tacos were delicious. The meat was really flavorful, and it was combined with different spices or salsas or sauces. This place really impressed us with the quality of the food as well as the affordability of prices. It’s one to make a regular stop. And our server, plus the front staff were welcoming, friendly, attentive, and did so many things to make it a warm and inviting place to be.“

“The best Mexican food! I try something different every time I go there and it's all been delicious. The menu isn't cookie cutter like a lot of places around here. Everything has a distinct flavor, not just chicken with rice covered in cheese sauce. And the margaritas... “

“AMAZING!!! The food is incredible. The service was so fast and they were crazy busy. The margaritas were fabulous and the performers were hella fun! 10 out of 10 and will DEFINITELY be back. This end of Telegraph needed some good Mexican food and El Mayor does not disappoint!“

“Really nice place inside. Don't know what the bar looked like because we didn't go in. I have heard people say that it's pricey and of course it is because this isn't your average Mexican restaurant. The menu is small plate oriented and the menu ismore like a tasting menu. The food is higher end than all the other places and outstanding. I can't comment on their drink menu because I seldom drink when going out. I will say that the pricing seem to be a bit higher than most places which will account for a higher per person ticket if one has two or three drinks. Still, our total was $70 ore tip for 2 people including 2 beers. The wait time between "courses" is a bit long but not enough for me to really complain about. The staff were friendly dmv knowledgeable about the menu. It may not me a place we'll go to monthly but we will definitely be back!“

“Dined here for the first time last night. Salsa was delish, margaritas was fantastic (got the Mezcal. They were out of tajin, but it was still excellent with salt). Enjoyed the tacos and the street corn. 10 out of 10! Looking forward to dining here again.“

“We’ve not had the luxury of dine in but we will soon! All of the times we ordered have been pick up. The food is great! I always get the same thing: Quesadilla Fiesta, and Chicken Quesadilla. The Quesadilla Fiesta is moist and full with sour cream on the side. Also they serve the tortilla chips n salsa. Salsa is good but a tad spicy. The Chicken Quesadilla is on the dry side so be sure to order sour cream or queso to moisten it up a bit. You will need to request utensils before you leave as it is not a standard item in your to go bag. I eat there about 2-4 times a month, so very good experience!Parking: I am handicapped and sometimes non handicapped people park there to be close to door. So if using a wheelchair, walker or cane, you may be in for a longer walk so that is unfortunate.“

“Available for dine in, carry out and on Uber eats. Delicious authentic steet tacos with varying protein options. Nothing vegan sorry. But you can do no meat and get a quesadilla or torte w just cheese for vegetarian. I've tried almost all the meats. The lengua is soooo good if you're feeling adventurous. Tacos, tortes and quesadilla all delicious. Would rate higher if I could. Best stop in the city for tacos.“

“If you're looking for genuine Mexican cuisine that won't dent your budget, this is the place for you. The wait staff was friendly and provided helpful suggestions for the menu. I went for my favorite, the asada tacos, and they were truly delicious. The salsa was also noteworthy. I intend to return and explore more items on the menu. All in all, it was a fantastic experience.“

“Thrilled that we found this hidden gem on South Grand. Our meal started with chips and guacamole. The guacamole comes with or without jalapeños and we did without. Great flavor and texture with small pieces of tomato. I had the quesabirria and the were amazing! They were filled with tender pieces of beef, onions and cilantro. My husband had the tamales and they were fantastic too! The restaurant is very clean and staff are warm and welcoming.“

“One of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever tried. Excellent burritos, fajitas, and amazing mole sauce, verde, and salsa. They also make a very spicy ?️ salsa if you ask. The meat is very tender, moist, and seasoned very well. Huge portions for food for a very reasonable price! This is a must stop place to eat! Super nice people with excellent service and awesome food!“

“We arrived to a full house and we were a party of 6. Immediately behind us was a party of 10. We found out there was only 2 servers on staff and were super concerned. I ordered the Enchiladas Mexicana and I'm telling you it was one of the most flavorful dishes I've ever had. And the service? Nothing less than AMAZING!“

“Let me just preface this by saying I moved here from South Texas and have spent more than my fair share of time in Old Mexico. In years of searching for REAL Mexican food in St Louis, I’ve had many disappointments. This place was absolutely fantastic and pure pleasure for an old Texan. It even made me shhh my wife because I wasn’t willing to remove my focus from the delicacy I was partaking in. Can’t recommend this place enough and haven’t been able to stop telling others about it. I’ll be a permanent fixture there for sure.“

“Had a great experience around 6:30pm on Friday night. It was pretty busy with a line to the door, however, the only reason the wait seemed long was because I was hungry and the menu looked so good! When we got to the front counter we were greeted by a nice, very hard working female. Food came quick after we ordered! My husband and I shared the Locoz fries with asada. This was my personal favorite. The fries were nice and crispy (not soggy at all). I loved the pico on the fries as well as their special sauce! Great ratio of steak, cheese, sauce, pico, etc. we also shared three gringo tacos (tinga, pastor, Camaron). My favorite was the pastor and my husband's favorite was the camaron which is shrimp. Beware, these tacos are messy ! Grab lots of napkins. The last thing we ordered was a side of esquites. It wasn't my favorite version of esquites but it was pretty tasty. I think next time I would have topped my tacos with it or tried a different side Next time I want to try either a quesadilla or burrito. They looks AMAZING!! Both big and cheesy!! They also have bottled drinks. I'm not a big beverage fan but this always excites my husband. He got a grapefruit Jarrito (picture of the beverage menu are listed with a picture of the cooler) Parking was hard on a Friday night. We parked across the street in the schnucks parking lot but there is also street parking“

“Ordered to go for the first time. This place is so good, i was able to order SO much food for under $30. The only thing i didnt care for were the type of chips they use. They were too hard in my opinion, im more of a fan of thinner fried chips. Definitely will be ordering here again soon.“

“The *best* neighborhood Mexican restaurant in St. Louis. Amazing cuisine, fast and friendly service, great value and the best margaritas in Rock Hill! My husband and I have been going to El Indio since the doors opened nearly 15 years ago and watched it grow into the successful restaurant it is today. It’s no wonder why it is such a gem in Rock Hill! Make El Indio your next night out. Order a pitcher of margaritas on the rocks, share among friends & family and discover what the rest of us already know and love!“

“I visited Tequila Mexican Restaurant for the very first time this evening and was abundantly pleased..I didn't know what to expect, really, but shared photos convinced me to give them a shot..I would describe this restaurant as a "hybrid" sit down place.. What do I mean?? So, you enter and order at the counter, and then your food is delivered to your table..I ordered two, a la carte al pastor street tacos and a margarita.. The street tacos were divine, and despite my late visit, the ingredients (pork, onions, cilantro, and tortillas) were pleasantly fresh and packed with flavor..The accompanying chips and salsa were a nice touch, and the margarita was quite flavorful..Every member of the staff I interacted with was wonderfully pleasant, and the generous military discount on the food was a nice touch, too!!I will certainly revisit this venue the very next time I visit the Columbia area.. A very clean and niche restaurant with great eats and service!! ?“

“I have never had Honduran food before visiting Sueño and let me just say...shoutout to the people of Honduras because your food is incredible! I started off with a drink and I ordered the strawberry margarita. Sueño uses a fresh strawberry puree that they make in house and it was literally the best margarita that I've ever had. It was so good that I ordered two of them. lol For my entree, I ordered the Pollo Con Tajadas. It's also known as Pollo Chuco which means 'chicken with slices'. The entrée is made with fried plantains topped with fried chicken, cabbage salad, pico de Gallo salad, onions, and sauces. It was so flavorful and filling! There was nothing but crumbs left by the time I was done eating. lol I will most definitely be coming back to try some other items on the Sueño menu.“

Next time I come to st Louis I will be sure to be coming back to this amazing cuisine. They food and drinks were absolutely amazing! Highly recommend!“

“Had been at the art museum with my sisters. We were looking for a place for lunch. Your place was so bright and comforting looking. We chose your restaurant. The service was excellent from the minute we walked in the door. We were greeted by his very sweet young lady . And we had a very sweet server she helped us with things that we did wasn't sure what it was on the menu. She spoke very good English. Us three sisters really enjoyed our lunch and enjoy the atmosphere. You are a very big building we didn't realize how big you were. Till we got ready to leave. We noticed the bag dining room. When we parked out front. There is only two people in the outside garden. When we came out the whole outside patio was full. It was just a sweet hometown feeling there. And I thank you for making the rest of our day together. Us three senior citizen sisters ? be such a blessing. And I will be returning I have not stopped talking about your restaurant since I've been there. Spreading the word. Cuz the food was so delicious. Thank you again for the kind service“

“Our favorite Mexican spot in STL. Perhaps... our very favorite spot in general? My wife (and friends, and family, and everyone who visits us) have been coming to El Bronco for 10+ years and it has never lost the edge! A classic, authentic joint with friendly smiling people, often packed full of locals. Literally everything we've had has been enjoyable, but my wife's regular is the shrimp cocktail, and mine if the steak Mexicana with flour tortillas - guaranteed hit! The chicken quesadilla is a champ, too. El Bronco is awesome and I hope it never changes!!“

“It was good in every way except the tv was on a violent movie and I kept looking up during bloody scenes. I am sensitive to that so it made the meal less enjoyable for me. I suggest they keep the tv on nicer content. But excellent food and service. I would enjoy it if they salted the chips too.“

“Lily's Panaderia has been open for many years. If you are a loyal customer or have visited the bakery, You’ll recall the old location being small and cozy. Their new location offers more space for customers to enjoy their freshly baked treats alongside a cup of coffee to start the day. If you like a savory treat, I would recommend the bread with cream cheese and jalapeño. For the sweet treats, I would recommend the conchas. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to try real authentic Mexican bread here in STL. Lily’s panaderia always excels in taste and presentation too.“

“Kid-friendliness: Honestly Judy is the best. Always so kind but today my kid had just had dental work and was extra loopy. Judy responded so sweet to the child in the back seat with her window rolled down who said "HI!!!". “I decided to try Las Fuentes in Arnold after having poor service experiences at other Mexican restaurants around the area. I am so glad I tried this place! The service was the best I've had in a long time at a restaurant. The waitress was quick with salsa refills where I didn't even have to ask, she saw I was running low and offered, which was great! She also checked back a few times, which is always appreciated in case I needed something. I ordered a lunch to go as well and she was on it and had the order ready when I was finished and ready to pay the bill. I was just so impressed by the great service and will definitely be back. The food was also fantastic! The chicken was tender in the Polo Casa and the cheese was plentiful. For the cost of the entrée, I also felt I got a good amount of food, which isn't the case nowadays at some restaurants. It was nice to have great service and great food!“

“Ordered delivery through Postmates bc we're quarantined and could not have been more satisfied with everything! Amazing chunky guacamole. Veggie fajitas with mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower on top of veggies that usually come in fajitas so you don't feel like they just took out the meat. Fantastic chile relleno. Also no styrofoam in our order and minimal plastic. Thank you for delicious dinner and for supporting Tent Mission and our unhoused neighbors in STL!“

“La VallesanaHey! This place is solid. You can count on a freaking awesome plate every time. Tacos, quesadillas, tortas and way more than I'm going to mention here…. My go to is the camerones al diablo (well, currently, anyways) and I have decided that between the quesadilla and the torta, the torta wins. It's the grilled bread with crispy cheese edges and idk how they do it but this is a sandwich that keeps me coming back for more.I've been coming to this place formerly known to myself and others affectionately as The Taco Stand for over a couple decades! It seriously used to be a one room shack on the corner of California and Cherokee. Now the enlarged building multiplies its size by at least 10! The outdoor patio on the corner is larger than the whole joint started out. It's now formatted so you order and seat yourself, which works out well as far as I can tell. And takeout is just as easy. IT DOES GET BUSY, so if you suspect you're in a time crunch you could always go to another spot nearby and grab Mexican at a (potentially) less busy spot.ALL of the Mexican restaurants on Cherokee have great items on their menus and and it's worth exploring all of them to see what you like where. But basically La Vallesana is my go-to when I'm not being particular and maybe want to go be anonymous somewhere. The last thing I have to say about La Vallesana is that you might want to think about dessert first, so you can save room. When you enter, all the house made ice cream and aguas frescas like horchata are also not to be overlooked. Plan ahead.Saturdays seem to be busiest and I am here on a Tuesday after lunch rush, and there's still a steady flow of customers. 5 stars out of 5 here. Glad to support local growth and a minority owned business on Cherokee Street.“

“Visiting from out of town and I cannot believe I found this gem of a restaurant. I am Mexican and I'm always searching for a good authentic taco stand. This is a small taco restaurant that serves tacos like they do in Mexico (if you know you know.) I ordered 2 asada tacos and 1 carnitas. Service was fast and the tacos were 10/10. My favorite part of my tacos was the meat and the spicy red salsa cannot wait to come back already.“

“I went here for the Yelp Experience. I chose Tuesday because it would be perfect for taco Tuesday. I had the potato taco. I had never heard of that before. It was interesting. It was good but I prefer beef or chicken. The margarita was great. The Pollo Ranchero was good. I would have given them 5 stars, but I didn't get guacamole with either dish. It was supposed to have guacamole with both entrées. I love Mexican food. I rate them often on the salsa. I may not go back if the salsa and chips aren't up to par. The salsa was good, but not my favorite. I can definitely go again. My server was Cice. She did an excellent job.“
