Yes, Mexican food is subjective. There are so many regions of Mexico and some gringos prefer americanized Mexican food. Much of the food at La Costenita has a Oaxacan flavor-(very flavorful due to its proximity to Central America). The salsa is unique with a chipotle taste. The cooks like serrano peppers over jalapeños. Pork and steak are all very good. Try the Molcajete-it’s like a party of flavors. Margs are good, be sure to buy Lalo a shot of tequila. Reviews were great so we tried it since our place on the west side is closed on Sundays. Chips were over cooked, rice undercooked, fajitas weren’t sizzling. Not a fan of the salsa. Glad we tried it but it will be the first and last.
