phenomenal food and service
The people are super friendly and kind!
Now for the important part, the food…
HOLY 💩!!! Their brisket is BY FAR the BEST I have ever had, easily beating out Gates and Jack Stack! The chicken is moist and delicious, the ribs… finger licking good! My kids got their burgers and when I tell you that you don’t need anything on it, I mean it!
The flavors are on point! Their sauce… OUT OF THIS WORLD! My son licked his plate clean because he didn’t want any of it...read full review
grabbed lunch at their brick and mortar shop - great service and good atmosphere- ordered the cowboy sandwich lunch special with pulled pork and brisket and it was awesome. moist and flavorful and plenty of it and the seasoned fries were great as well. I'll be back for more down the road!

Ate1Six is an absolute diamond in the rough and a Black family-owned business. The outside is unassuming, attached to a gas station, but don't let that fool you. Inside, the venue has a western yet modern vibe with tinted windows and cowboy décor, setting a classy-but-cozy BBQ atmosphere that could double as a sports bar and family restaurant. It is not quite a hole-in-the-wall but definitely not sterile or corporate.
The food is mind-blowing, serving some of the freshest and most tasty BBQ. The KC Wild Plate is huge, easily enough for leftovers, featuring items like a half slab of ribs, brisket, chicken, fries, onion rings, and cowboy beans. The ribs are bomb and finger-licking good. The brisket is perfectly smoked, tender, and on point, described by many as the best they have ever had. The chicken is juicy, moist, and not dry. The fries are solid. The slaw is fantastic with a perfect balance. The cowboy beans are superior to other Kansas City BBQ spots, though they are less sweet. The signature BBQ sauce is unique, out of this world, and full of flavor and smokiness, though some note it is pre-loaded on the meat and resembles Thousand Island Dressing meets BBQ. The cheese dipping sauce was not a favorite for some. Burgers are so flavorful they need nothing on them.
The service is super-friendly and kind. The owners are amazing, showing great kindness and support for the community, such as by offering free meals for kids during difficult times. It is a new favorite BBQ spot and an A1 experience, with many willing to put it up against the biggest names in KC BBQ. It is highly recommended and worth a special trip.
